A lot of truth to your post. However, he's crossed the line before, but no more than Bob Knight. He's a no nonsense, says what he feels, leader, but that can hurt you. Really great leaders know you CANNOT get the best out of your team coaching them all the same way. Great leaders have a toolbox that has many different ways to get the best out of people. Some need it direct and hard, some need the, " you did a great job running routes today, next week I want you working to be as good at blocking downfield." Some people do not react well to a constant barrage of, "You played like shit', some do. Know your team and know how to get the best from all of them. If he took a DISC assessment I know he would be 99.9% D and that's what stops him from greatness. Managing by fear or applied tension has never been sustainable. Just my 2¢ worth nothing

What some people do not realize when you continually misuse these labels just cuz you don’t like the way people say things, you weaken the label ( misogynist). Everyone who says things you do not agree with does not need a label. Was what he was saying a lie or the truth? If it’s a lie let’s label him dishonest, if what he is saying is the truth accept it. The concept of winning is so capitalistic and dehumanizing. Players need to feel their worth as humans. If they are made to feel uncomfortable when they are too tired to play well, or perhaps aren’t in the mood to, that could be damaging to them. Instead of scolding them, the coaches should be telling them how good they were last year. Happy people do better. They need more days off and a less strenuous schedule. They also need more rap sessions and feel-good meetings These conservative coaches could use some sensitivity training.
