Thanks Mike. Guitar player here. Just bought our first mando yesterday, an Eastman 505. Came to your videos to learn some theory and technique but I have to be honest. I spent most of this time zooming my computer in on that work of art you are playing on. That old Gibby is so beautiful! You're a lucky man indeed.

Awesome. Thanks Mike, really helpful. Being drums were my first instruments, I totally got the concept.

Thank you for doing this video! That's a nice mandolin. I have The Loar and a Vangoa. I have a very hard time because I have short fingers.

I use Thomastik Infeld Precision Strings which have half as much tension of an average String set to make this easier

Blue grass has never really caught my attention, I got a mandolin because I always wanted to play jazz and the violin was not as useful for chords. This is very interesting though, I noticed how you can transfer the shape of many chords throughout the finger board but this shape of the hand is really cool, I need to learn this just to have it in my box of techniques.

Mr Marshall - excellent video! Just learning my " Monroe chop". You make it easy for an old funk bass player sir, which is alot of bass ackwards! THANK YOU!
