Saquon breaking the record is even more impressive in this era cause he’s in the rb by committee system, the backups took almost 90 carries from him this year. The pre 2005 backs got pretty much all of them. They weren’t sitting for 4th quarters either.

Saquon is actually doing it with less carries. Just compare the number of carries and YPC. ED got the ball a lot more times per game obviously.

Since yall mentioned Dan Campbell, look at all the injuries on his team. He's always running up scores late in games when they're up multiple td's. All those extra snaps add up. Look how broken down and injured their defense is.

As a eagles fan it the record could be broken before halftime. Last year Aj brown got hurt in the First Quarter against the giants, we didn’t have slay or reed so I understand rest and prepare for next week

AJ wasn’t going to change the outcome of last years playoff game. The defense was one of the worst in the league… they weren’t going to the bowl. That’s just the facts. This year everything is possible. They should go for the record it’s a no brainer. Every year a team wins a bowl, not every year does a team get to break a 40+ year record.

As a life long Eagles fan I really wanted to see Saquon break that record. For the O line, the team and especially while playing the Giants. What changed my mindset whether it’s legit or not is that because that O line needed to be out there with him to break that record I totally get everyone sitting and not going for it. Like Mike said we do have some more stuff to sort and maybe playing the half would have helped as well as broken the record but it was just took much of a risk to take. LOVED seeing those rookies getting an NFL touchdown for the first time. Tough call for sure. GO BIRDS!! 🦅🦅🦅

18 game season is part of the conversation. This record held for so long because it’s crazy but moving to 17 games makes it more attainable and 18 will make it even more so. I don’t think it’s the reason they sat him but I think they softened the blow by telling him “hey you could get this record but if league goes to 18 it may not stand very long”. The 2,000 yard list. He’s always going to be on there. If they do get a SB no one can take that one away from him either.
