Why?? He has the best reg-season stats of them (except Burrow in some, bc he's top 2 not just 10 in many) & the best W-L record. Dak: #3 passer rating below Rodgers & Burrow, #4 in TDs (w/ Rodgers & Mahomes), #3 comp %, & #5 AVG passing yds per-game (#7 total w/ missing a game.) Facing the Pats w/ a rookie QB who couldn't score or the Raiders who last won a playoff game since Gannon was MVP in '02, is VERY diff to a 49ers team who was in the SB 1 season ago (the last time their QB wasn't Nick Mullens.) Herbert didn't make the playoffs & was prone to interceptions late in the season.

I would have run a play with Amari in the slot and CD lined up outside him. Run Amari on a 10 yard out, and CD on a post. If the defense over-commits to the out, throw it to CD and hope he can take it the distance. He is exactly the type of player that can break a play like that off for a TD.

You didn’t mention by name the biggest problem for the Cowboys: Jerry Jones. He is the one making all these bonehead decisions that affect the on field performance. He decided on Mike McCarthy without a serious vetting of his available options. Mike McCarthy’s resume looks pretty good because he had Brett Farve and Aaron Rodgers to lead his teams. If he had average QBs, his record would be dismal and he’d be out of the league. If Aaron Rogers had Belicheck or Shanahan, he’d have 4 rings by now.

Why can't he organize the players, the coaches and the trainers and put together a Superbowl team? After all, they are Super talented, right? No. I don't think they are. Because evey time dallas got the ball the refs threw a flag for holding. Yet on there's first td parsons was clearly held and they didn't call that. Dallas had 7 or 8 penalties at half time 49s had one delay of game that they had 3 call. The refs cheated the whole first half and dallas still almost came bak and won .

Packer' fan here. We lived through Coach McCarthy. I think he is a good regular season coach in the divisions he has coached in. NFC North and East are weak divisions. Now they playoffs are different and I think this is where Coach M doesn't shine so much. I used to tell my friends and family when discussing the Packers, winning the NFC North is good but the Packers falter in the playoffs. When they got a new coach a lot of Packer fans were happy. In my opinion Coach M is too conservative and his coaching style allows teams to hang in the game even when his team is dominating. He lacks the put away punch coaching style. Just saying.

There were replays shown on almost all the holding calls and it wasn't even close. These cowboys were virtually hugging people - it was so obvious and inexcusable you had to almost believe they were told to do it intentionally and take their chances with the refs since it was obvious they couldn't block the 49ers!

If you're a realistic Cowboys fan you understand Jerry will almost never admit he's wrong about players or coaches and as a result he'll hang on to them for years too long. Expect to get stuck with McCarthy's sluggish mediocrity for a couple of more seasons minimum. I'm praying Jerry has an epiphany and makes me eat these words by firing McCarthy but even then he would probably just bring back Jason Garrett or something equally horrible.

This was supposed to be the Cowboy's year! The ONLY take away from the game is that Jerry Jones WASTED $40 million a year on a QB who can't beat a wild card team! Jerry made sure that Dak had all the weapons on offense to succeed. And they all showed up yesterday. And your $40 million QB was only good for 1 TD pass? We have had a GM running the Cowboys for the past 26 years that hasn't produced a Superbowl shucks hasn't even produced one conference title game appearance in 26 years. Making it more about Cowboys failure vs how good the 49ers Defense was! DeMaco Ryans called a heck of a game defensively disguising coverages, calling Blitz, and just having guys ready! They had Dak hesitant all night and the pass rush made it worse! The weakness of the defense isn’t quite the secondary since Ambry has stepped in and Norman being benched! Tho I think its still a weakness, this secondary is actually much improved! I watched a lot of the game except for the possessions after the Jimmy Int but Ambry Thomas wasn’t targeted (maybe once or twice) and I can’t recall him giving up a catch! I followed him the whole game and he was clamping routes!! Only big play was on K’Wuan and he got it back with that timely Int!
