The Mussina signing was one of their best moves. Too bad he didn’t get a ring with them.

As an Orioles fan yes it’s to bad if he had stayed 1 more year for 09 he would have a ring he was like 30 wins from 300 and 180 k’s from 3000 he should have played 1 or 2 more years and hit those milestones but he wanted to go out on top with his first 20 win season many Orioles fans argue moose or Palmer as the best?

Mussuna is so under-rated. I love Mariano Rivera but in game 7 of the 2003 ALCS Mussina had the gutsiest performance. Mussina comes in, Boston leading 4-0 runners 1st and 3rd no one out, and he gets out of the inning not giving up a single run where it could have been a blowout.

That’s a whole fact. The man was a gamer. Never seen him rattled…except when he yelled at Torre to stay in the dugout ..which he did 😂

Yeah Mariano also cost Mussina his best chance at a ring with the Yankees, which Mussina had wryly noted on occasion

David Ortiz after he retired was asked which Pitcher he struggled to hit the most and it was Mussina. He made hitting Mussina sound like trying to solve an Algebraic equation because of all the variables hitters had to look out for.

I think the success he had against roided hitters should ultimately get him in the HOF. Mussina's numbers would have been even better had he faced non roided hitters. He would have probably won over 300 games easily and maybe few Cy Young awards as well.

Schilling was better, especially in the playoffs. How come he isn't in the Hall yet? He was better than Mussina
@Joseph-lz5er3 жыл бұрын
@@greatestnitemare6626 simple, because Curt Schilling became a great pitcher when he was 31 and didn't accumulate the career numbers as Mussina, where he was an all star pitcher when was 23 and he was consistent until he was 40.
@greatestnitemare66263 жыл бұрын
@@Joseph-lz5er so? Schilling still had better numbers
@Joseph-lz5er3 жыл бұрын
@@greatestnitemare6626 not necessarily. Mussina had 270 career victories, 30 short of magic number of 300. Whereas Schilling only had 217. If Schilling had 250 wins, I think he gets in easily or at least won several Cy Young awards like Roy Holiday. I am a big fan of Schilling, he's a big game pitcher, but pitching in big games doesnt just get you in. It is the whole career.. I do hope Schilling eventually gets in, which I think he will.
