Good mix of Oldfield. I feel very lucky to have seen him 3 times live. He has made some fantastic music which deserves much more recognition.

Thanks for the awesome birthday gift (Sept 20) of Mike Oldfield. I was only lucky enough to see him and the crew live once (Augsburg, 1983) but will carry a bit of that with me always.

@@Anyoldtime48 thanks to you, you’re very kind. I’m also happy because my work helped to bring back, once again, your 1983 memories. Once more, thank you very much for being a lovely part of this Channel family and… a late Happy Birthday!

@@ToniMartinTCPRIL Thanks for the birthday wishes. Can't fathom that Mike is astonished that his music is still respected and listened to. Quality music will be around long after we are all dust and he certainly composed no shortage of that. Just bummed that I have not found anything that he was doing anything close to perceptible vocals on. His sister was with him at that Augsburg concert and the lady had (has) some serious pipes. She was dang near more memorable than CS&N and Van Morrison. And far more memorable than Robert Palmer.
@@dirkinmoscow Wow! Thank you very much. That’s what I really think about his music and his playing.

That is a fantastic video Toni, it is the best introduction for anyone who wants to know what Mike Oldfield is about. You choose great examples of his music and guitar work from throughout his career. Mike is SO unique and a genuine genius. I can't praise him high enough. Interesting fact, I was at the Tubular Bells 3 premiere concert, and the pianist, Katherine, who you see here is actually the aunt of my son-in-law, she told me Mike is well respected in the classical world.

Cool story! I was at the TB3 premiere, too, and it was a magical night despite all the rain.

@urmeli0815 Yes, the rain was heavy, I had jeans on and had to take the tube back to the other side of of London after!! But it was worth it to see Mike perform live, which is a rare thing.
