TB1 is brilliant; TB2 is a masterpiece.

TB2 was the ultimate version agreed.

I liked it, but thought it was a little over-produced, (the Tervor Horm touch) and sometimes therefore 'souless'. Bits like 2:23 don't really do it for me. I think he struck the right balance between suitably different and reliably familiar.

Thanks for sharing this! I like everything he said in the interview. I saw him on this tour when he performed TB II here in Los Angeles at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre and it was a wonderful concert with at least a dozen pipers! It was not as big a production as this one at Edinburgh Castle, but it didn't need to be. It was still a spectacular and memorable concert!

Interesting what Mike said about going to near or far from the original Tubular Bells, because with Tubular Bells 3 he went far away from the previous 2 albums. The live performances here seem to have a different mix than the dvd too.

Even if he makes music with toothbrushes, he is far better than 98% of nowadays so-called musicians!

I discovered Mike in the mid 80s and still love his music, my 2 favourite albums which are so different to each other are Incantations and Amarok!
