@chopkong You need to recalibrate how you view losses and records in this new SEC and Big Ten era. If you have only 3 losses and you're in one of those two conferences, you'll at the very least be considered for the playoffs. And if you have three losses but they're to the "right" teams and you have a big win or two sprinkled in there you'll be a certified lock. There are going to be a lot of angry fanbases in these new super conferences who haven't yet realized how hard it'll be to just go 10-2 or 9-3 now.

You forget, teams only get credit for beating SEC teams if they themselves are SEC teams. For example, Ole Miss beats Bama? Now they are a top 5 team! Texas beats Bama? They got lucky! But don't worry, if Texas beats Bama now you'll get credit for it.

@@markwright2751, I can see Texas being 3 loss next season with those losses coming from UGA, Michigan, and OU. More likely, Texas is in the SEC championship game with 1 loss coming from UGA. And I kind of want to drop that game, because it is tough to beat any team twice. Georgia is now the team to beat in the SEC and will be until Kirby moves on. And I think he has a lot of gas in the tank. Alabama will drop off just because of player and coaching turnover. Deboer is a good coach. I think he will be great in the long term if Alabama can be patient. The real question mark is on defense.
