This is AWESOME! I was in Faith No More concert in Maquinaria Festival, in Sao Paulo, Brasil, 2009... awesome show! I'll never forget! I was a young 26 years old then, from the "countryside", from a small town far from Sao Paulo... today, Almost 40, I'm working in Sao Paulo and living nearby... and still singing and headbanging, and dreaming to see Faith No More once more!

I remember I was at school once doing a weird karaoke thing because I find an exploit. They can’t say no to Raining Blood by Slayer, because the only rule was no swearing. That day, in the school of a southern, backwards, heavily Christian town I screamed Raining Blood at the top of my lungs and felt proud.

That is a great story, I truly believe it. I'm glad I found this comment story you shared, so thank-you. I also appreciate it bc I also have a story to share with you that is just as true & relatively similar that I've had for 34 years, but I've very rarely gotten the excuse to, or opportunity to tell it... Now I don't have any idea how old you are or how long ago your Slayer karaoke performance was, at the conservative Christian school , or even what grade/age level you and your religious, sheltered, god fearing classmates were at the time, but as a Slayer fan with probably very few, if any friends in that town that shared your taste in music for Slayer. But surely it was a satisfying & proud moment, screaming, "Sky Is Turning Red" & "From a Lacerated Sky!" ...likely scaring the pants off those kids, teachers & staff!🤣 Too bad you didn't get to karaoke the lyrics from Alter of Sacrifice or Hell Awaits....man, just imagine the looks that would have been on their faces...😂 priceless! When I was a junior or senior in high school, age 17 in 1988 or '89, a fully obvious very long haired extreme death metal, metalhead, amongst the rest of my group of friends & also hardcore metalheads. We looked extreme acted sometimes extreme, but still had a good respectable rapport with our teachers & school admins & staff. My English Literature teacher was pretty down to Earth & cool, Mrs. Katherine, who kept our class & assignments interesting. Now, this was back when the bands like Slayer, Kreator, Death, Venom, etc. we're still widely misunderstood & not received well...for the most part, an assumed unacceptable genre associated with violence & all around troubled hooligans, but for the most part we weren't so bad. Mrs. Katherine had an assignment for us to pick a favorite poem, story or song lyrics any to write out & as a class she would dissect, fully analyze & break down the meanings behind the authors songs. Reign in Blood was still a fairly new Slayer album, and for the most part, not yet well known certainly not by mainstream standards. So, I had my doubts my teacher would accept my chosen music/ lyric subject which was Slayer's ANGEL Of DEATH, Which has some disturbing, "inappropriate for school" lyrics and subject matter. But she was cool & played it loudly $ in class, repeatedly about all the Nazis & torturous, murderous details of Dr. Mengele in concentration camps, etc. Playing all the screams & extreme evil sounding songs. And we analyzed the lyrics completely. What a fun project for school that was!!!
