LYRICS Must you do this? Treat me ruthless Make excuses when the truth is that the thought still comes Now and then, when you're in private You're considered then the silence tends to sound like drums You're pretending you don't care So I'm doing the same I like you more when you're taken Oh, Lord, you're good at this game Don't do me dirty, show me some mercy Darling, please lay down your weaponry How did I end up somewhere between a Lover and a memory? 'Cause I don't believe in a halfway heart And you gave me all of my favorite scars How did I end up somewhere between a Lover and a memory? I been drinking, I been smoking, I been waiting I been hoping that there's still some chance You and me can find a reason to believe in All them weekends that we used to have You're pretending you don't care So I'm doing the same I like you more when you're taken Oh, Lord, you're good at this game Don't do me dirty, show me some mercy Darling, please lay down your weaponry (Please lay down your weaponry) How did I end up somewhere between a Lover and a memory? @@Youngguy It's about much more than just his girl. It's about him being a real person. He writes these songs, then they only become hits once someone else sings them. I took a pill in ibiza wasn't huge until the remix. He recorded different version of this song with Steve Aoki years ago and isn't very popular. I bet this one will be a huge in comparison. Somehow I get this. Just based on my past in dealing with my kids dad and his issues. His drinking, then his liver transplant because of his drinking. I do not talk about it much. Yet I get it...the weaponry of it all...the before...the after...and the in between...It has been 5 years since his transplant...none of it goes away...and the years of dealing with him prior to his transplant will never ever go away. Not for our 3 kids either. Yet, for now we are good. He is not so healthy but good. Calm now. I really like this song by the way. It does make me want to cry a bit, but based on my history I see light at the end of the tunnel of the darkness that the video portrays. It is part of a story and a journey. I have followed you since your walk across the country so I know your motto is keep going. I just want you to know that it is good to keep going...yet keep thinking about what makes you good...what makes you whole...and what keeps you healthy...I do this everyday. You are doing well...keep believing in yourself...
