Dude.. thank you so much for giving fpv some love on your channel! Our hobby is dying due to drones getting bad press. We get so much hate over the DJI pleebs flying in places they shouldn’t. Our drones don’t do that stuff, we have no interest in spying on you. We just wanna fly.

Aw, Mike! I saw in your completely blanked out expression that you’re going through what I’ve been going through, lately: that moment in time when you truly and absolutely have no idea what’s happening. Nothing is getting beyond your senses and into the interpretation portion of your brain, so that you finally understand what’s going on. AND you pretty much recognize that it won’t. That’s amazing, new technology in an aging world. This happens to me all the time, AND I’M YOUNGER THAN YOU! Also, because you’re an actor you could, potentially, be acting confused. If that’s the case then you deserve an Oscar! I’m living a very happy life, and need very little, but this getting older business IS NOT for the faint of heart! Take care, Mike! I’m with you on this!

I'm incredibly thankful for FPV flight simulators when it comes to learning how to fly the drones. I tend to think of it like you are controlling 4 dimensions of motion with two sticks, which is really tough to manage at first. Out of the three main FPV styles (cinematic,freestyle,racing) I think racing is the hardest one to get proficient at. Honestly I don't really even enjoy drone racing, but I know that it makes me a better pilot so i do it from time to time. In reality you trade control for speed and it can be hard to slow down and regain control once you lose it during the race. Respect to all the drone racing pilots out there it is far more difficult than the average person will be able to appreciate.

One of my old friends brother which is a friend also. He was in the Air Force for 10 years. Him and his family were into the remote Air Planes some with video cameras on them. Other technology like cell phones that is commo or communications in the Army commo training comes out of Ft.Lenardwood. Missouri for AIT. So with cell phones you can cut off some ones cell phone and stop them from getting a job. About 70% of jobs you will not get without a cell phone or some sort of communication. Some people add lines to their service for other people. But you almost must upgrade your phone. Your life almost depends on your cell phone. If you can't get a job you can't pay your bills. Also HR if your lifestyle doesn't match up with someone in HR you might not get hired?

The guy at the beginning, super patient BTW, telling Mike that these are just toys. Not sure why part of me doesn't quite believe that, it'd be like telling someone with a huge model train setup that they are "just toys"
@arklave
@arklave 3 ай бұрын
I think Jessie was saying the tiny whoop is a toy in the context of its abilities vs a 3 or 5 inch quadcopter. The tiny whoop looks very forgiving for novice pilots and its clearly not going to have the speed or battery life of a full size racing drone. For example I'm a disc golfer and discs are not frisbees, but sometimes when talking to someone who doesn't know about the sport its easier to visualize it when we say frisbee golf. We dont mean any discrespect to the sport when doing this but the average person is going to get confused or lost once we start throwing out terms from inside the sport. Also worth noting: Thank god for digital transmission so we don't have to rely on analog anymore.
@Mike__B
@Mike__B 3 ай бұрын
@@arklave Maybe it's one of those things as someone in the hobby you're allowed to make that comparison but other people are not. e.g. you as a disc golfer can say "frisbees" to explain to someone, but for me a non-disc golfer if I say "Disc golf is when you throw frisbees at metal chains over a bucket" I would get a few scowls 🤣

I agree 100%, my flying for the first few hours in the sim was beyond abysmal. Took me at least 5 hours in before i wasn't crashing multiple times a minute. The "save" at 5:25 is incredible. I'm having a hard time figuring out whether the quad hit some part of the gate or whether it just got a hair too low and contacted the ground, the latter being what it looks to me like what happened. I think it might have been more luck than an actual save, but I would love to see the onboard footage of that.
