Mike's Garage: E17 - 2001 Kia Sportage Stereo Replacement

Today I walk you through the process of installing a stereo in this 2001 Kia Sportage. This car has been in the family for a long time. for the last several years its been stuck on talk radio and now recently quit entirely.
Since all my other cars are broke, (the last video and another to come), I am driving it this week. With a long drive to work, I needed some tunes. Best part of the deal, the stereo was even provided by more family. All I had to do is install it.

I put a new stereo in my 2001 Kia Sportage but the install kit made it to wear it was pushed in a little bit so you could see around it did not touch the beauty ring this video was a lot of help thanks and it's a pain to take the dash off of the front

***on the 2000 Kia you can just pop off the bezel that covers the stereo/vent controls, et al., and don't have to take off the whole dash face. Maybe the 2001 is different?

thanks for answering . I have a 2001 Kia Sportage and I'm installing a new stereo and amplifier with a sub . would the power antena wire also work as a remote cable because my stereo only has that and not a remote cable
