Toy Galaxy I decided that fighting the holiday crowds and hoards of scalpers in my area and just order the whole case online. Sure, it sucks a bit of the fun out of hunting them down, but now I have them and don't have to get up early and waste a day and a tank of gas driving all over Southern California. I'm at peace with it.

Personally when I collect figures, I don't try to get all the figures. I only go after the ones that I want.

thats how i am for most of my collection. But Black Series figure releases are so infrequent its not hard to buy them all. And it feels nice to have a complete collection of something.

Mike Kaess That's fair, they are released rather infrequently. However I live in a small mining town and we don't have any stores that sell figures exclusively. There's only like 2 stores that sell about 4 at any one time. Even then it's mostly the same figure. Also they are quite expensive here too. Figure in stores cost about $38 each and online it's around $50 per figure. It's ridiculous lol

How you reacted to the trailer seeing the Troopers is the exact same way I reacted. I was like 5% "Yay, new Star Wars movie" and 95% I NEED ALL OF THESE NEW TROOPERS. Which I did. And I love all of them. They're the best Troopers that Hasbro has put out in recent years, can't get enough of them. I need at least a dozen more Scarif Troopers. And K-2SO is a fantastic figure. I honestly don't even consider the model kit version or the S.H. Figuarts version.

First off, fantastic list Mike. Those Rogue One troopers are something else, the quality in that Scarif Trooper sculpt is amazing. Rumor is Toys R Us is getting another trooper exclusive, AT-ACT driver! Despite being a repaint, that sculpt is my favorite trooper sculpt to date. The paint and materials used are just fantastic. Oh and respect for the mention of the Cassian figure, he's one of my favorites, his gun is incredible too. Anyways, my list is very similar with the inclusion of C3PO and the order mixed up a bit. I think it's awesome that we're able to create a "Top 10" list, meaning Hasbro is churning out more than 10 figures per year from this line. It's great to see this line as healthy as it is, the Black Series is what got me into toy collecting again. Based on the survey Hasbro recently did, I'm very excited for the future of the 6" 1/12 Black series line, can't wait to see what they have in store in anticipation of episode 8 & this upcoming wave, arguably one of the best waves yet! (2x Royal Guard, Lando, Tuskin Raider, Hera, Qui-Gon Jin).

I never thought Cassian was boring. I loved him so much. The soldier who was hurt by the empire and did anything to win. Good conflict with Jyn and reflects well on Saw.

Acdragonrider Videos I agree, () I loved how he wiped out that informant in one of his first scenes, that set the tone for his character, to me, for the rest of the film. Matter of fact, one of my favorite scenes of Rogue one is when Cassian shoots the grenade out of Saw's militant trooper, killing both him and the trooper who was aiming for Jyn. You could just tell he was willing to walk the fine line, or even cross it, in order to ensure the success of his mission. Cassian was fantastic, and the mention of his figure by Mike was well deserved.

I prefer the sculpted hood for Revan, but I wish the hood was sculpted as part of his head, and seperate from his shaw/shoulder wrap, so the hood moved with the head as one piece and you would still get a more fuller range of articulation. I dislike fabric hoods as they can be a pain to get sitting right and get messed up anytime you slightly touch them.

i would usually agree with you if it werent for Obi-Wan Kenobi's hood from the latest wave. That thing is absolutely perfect. I've never seen soft goods done so well at the 6" scale.

Nice list dude! There were a lot a great black series figures that were released this year. I have to commend Hasbro for giving us much needed characters and new characters. I can't wait to get Lando, hera, qui gon, royal guards, sand people. Man, there is a lot to look forward to this year as well. Toyfair is coming up next month. This is a good time to be a collector. Because I love Star Wars Rebels so much, Ashoka and Sabine would probably be higher on my list... but when Hera comes out this year, that will probably be number one on a 2017 list! Hey Mike, was just doing dishes and rewatching some of your top 10 videos! They’re great and I’m looking forward to your 2022 list. I’ve mentioned to you before, but you’re a big reason why I heavily collect the black series nowadays. I found your page during the first holiday season of the pandemic right, after I found the ESB Chewie in a target and grabbed him. I had purchased a few BS figure over the years at that point, maybe 7 or 8, but needed a Chewie. Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say happy New Year! Also, in this video, Old Ben, still love this figure and his robe. I’m sure you notice, but his robe, still I think is the best generic Jedi robe hasbro has made. And even better, this robe specifically, looks amazing on Qui Gon, throw in some Marvel Legends Dr. Strange hands……… do it

Mike Kaess feels less natural because you're less motivated doing the same thing second time. I've been there couple of times. I record on multiple cameras and when I forget to turn on the microphone on my main camera it's really difficult to sync up all the videos together, that's annoying as well but not as annoying as rerecording second time. I've been at all the comic cons that have sold the exclusives, but I didn't want to stand that ridiculous line super ridiculously early just to spend $50 on a toy I'll spend $20 on a few months later.

Got my first figure last night (Maz Kanata!) - what are two things you think I should do about having a small collection (no more than 10)? I definitely want Captain Phasma, Qui-Gon, Cassian or Lando, and that REALLY nice Obi-Wan you showed. I know it's probably more difficult to get these in person (I get concerned with online stuff - are they knock offs, is the box messed up, etc), but what do you suggest? Take them out of the box or leave in?

All of those are great. You can get Eadu Cassian pretty cheap. He's peg warming everywhere. If you want the other Cassian, check Ross. The 3 pack with the Deathtrooper and Jyn Erso has been seen there pretty cheap. Qui-Gon and Lando might be hard to find, but if you buy it from a reputable online retailer there should be no question if its a KO or not. I usually buy off Amazon if it's Amazon selling it (not an Amazon partner or vendor) or Entertainment Earth or Dorkside Toys. Those are my online go to shops.

Great list bro! Post as much black series review as you can bud! looking at the old obi, his saber is suppose to be extremely worn out and battle damaged in ANH. Don't lile that they took the ROTS hilt and placed it on this guy. While i was deciding to buy either kylo or luke, I'm glad to choose kylo because of the flaws that you mentioned. Hate that damn adam driver!

yeah, i will say they put a lot more detail on the Old Obi-Wan's saber than they did for the episode 3 version, but it's definitely not worn or battle damaged. But they nailed the figure itself so well, i will definitely overlook anything minor like that.

I honestly have nothing bad to say about Rogue One. I never really notice the problem with CGI. It looks realistic to me but I guess other people are smarter at noticing the difference. I think that Tarkin had to be there. He is just too important.

What did you pay for Revan if you don't mind me asking? I see him on Amazon for $40+ but I know he isn't worth that and I am not an impulsive buyer so I don't have it. I know some people buy and try to resell them at a huge markup. I like your videos keep the awesome videos coming. The only figures I would spend $40 + on are Mafex and possibly Sh Figuarts.

I preordered the case a whole from Dorksidetoys.com when it was announced because I knew it was the only way I'd get Revan for a reasonable price. So I paid the normal $20 for him. +ElmosBleach Addiction they were an Entertainment Earth exclusive. I don’t know if they’re still available. I know they did solid 4 packs too with them being all 1 color. So you could get the 4 pack with all red or all blue.

Roberto Gonzalez he's rare in the sense that he's exclusive to one retailer. Finding him in the wild at Walgreens takes some effort, but when you find him in the store you usually see a lot of him because they get cases of just him as a figure. Unless a scalper gets there first and buys them all. Then you're forced to buy him online for more then the $20 he should cost. So yeah, kinda rare.

+Darth Deuces yeah I ordered that whole wave as a case online so I didn't have to fight scalpers for Revan. Krennic and Jango are both in my top 15. Jango would have been 11 for sure, I just have problems giving Jango a pose that doesn't look stiff or awkward so I moved him down.

haha yeah. I had them all laid out and numbered in order for my first take, my 2nd take was a lot messier and I didnt even realize I had made a mistake until I was editing. The numbers on screen are the correct numbers. 3 3/4 inch figure are what got me started, but they have gotten more expensive and less detailed over the last few years. I figured might as well start dropping $20 per figure and get bigger, more detailed figures.

Awesome video,I agree they ruined the Skywalker twins from Episode.Kannan being number was no shock.Revans hood was a sign they got too involved with rest of the figure.His character isnt well known to alot of Starwars fans I was happy they made an effort.

i've only bought 2 figures on Ebay. The Walmart exclusive Shocktrooper, and I paid $25 for him with shipping. The other was Captain Phasma last February and I paid $27 for her. Now I've seen her in stores a bunch of times, I wish I had waited. But to answer your question, I befriend as many people as I can. Employees. Scalpers. Whoever. I ask employees when their store gets shipments. On Force Friday, there was a guy in line talking about how he was going to buy every Hover Tank Pilot the store had to sell on ebay. At first I was pissed, but over the course of the night I talked to him, and at the end, he came to me and asked if I'd found all the figures I wanteed and offered me a few of his doubles. So it pays to just be nice. The other thing is just being persistent and lucky. Or just ordering the figures online by the case.

Daniel Rhodes the 40th anniversary figures are in some cases identical or improvements. You can't go wrong getting a 40th anniversary figure if you can still find them. The Princess Leia had a huge face sculpt improvement. Luke has a slight improvement.

A KZbin Channel bookmark the Revan link on Amazon and check periodically. I was able to order 2, it was posted as backordered for $19.99 over 3 hours one day. He instantly shot up to the #1 selling figure on the site. Like Hasbro is doing with Deadpool, I hope they release a solid wave case of Revan (6x figures per box, versus the 1x).

toby ellis just gotta search toys r us, smyths, the entertainer and argos. I managed to get a scarif squad leader delivered from argos for £26 after nearly ordering one from the states. Also managed to get a K2SO from smyths which I wasn't expecting to find. Black series figs seem really hard to find in the uk, the new/decent ones anyway!

+Lawrence Vøn Bibra oh wow! Well, good luck! I would recommend picking a scale you like, 6" or 3.75 and then picking characters you like for a start! Right now it should be pretty easy to pick up the pegwarmers pretty cheaply, that's a start.

IMO, Revan Should've Been Higher. Why? Because Of His Character, And If That Shouldn't Be A Factor Then Why Is Constable Zuvio Commonly Referred To As An Easy Pass, Despite It Being A Decent Figure?

it is a bit of a factor, but i dont think its a factor in the way you do. Making a character that didn't appear in the movies (or maybe for a brief brief second depending on who you believe) in a line starved for characters is different from making a character based on an EU non-canon figure. Revan is fine. He's good. I'm not a huge fan of the KotR games so I don't have an attachment to him. I judge him based on what I had in my hand. The figure is good, but not the best of year.
