I love this television series myself, and I Just Purchased (Season 4, Volumes 1 and 2) As I already had the boxed set of Seasons1 through 3, I recently wanted to just break down and finally buy the entire series of the ''Streets of San Fransisco'' so I would have every single episode. however, it sold, before I could get it at a decent price. So, I figured I would just get all of season four and be happy with that and just own seasons 1 thru 4 As I am very loyal and wasn't really thrilled with the idea of Michael Douglas's absence in season 5 to begin with. P, S I see that you are a dedicated fan, ... So, do you perhaps have any information, on why Michael Douglas was not in season five!? Please let me know if you can!? ... thanks / Paul :)P*

I am a dedicated fan yes and I wasn't even born when it was on (I wasn't born till 94) yet I still adore the show, I started watching because of Michael and quickly got hooked. I read that michael left because he helped produce One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest and after it won an oscar his career quickly blew up. In my opinion it's not the same without him in the final season, no offence to Richard Hatch who I loved in Battlestar but what makes the show is the chemistry between Michael and Karl.

*Well first of all I'm so glad to see someone of your somewhat younger age liking a television series this old, and realizing it's a Timeless classic and thank you for letting me know why Michael Douglas was not in the ladder season and you are very correct it does not feel the same without Michael Douglas Michael Douglas /Steve Keller and Karl Malden /Mike Stone as their on-screen chemistry together along with the well written dialogue was brilliant whether it was an actual real friendship or great acting as it's fun to watch nevertheless and still is to this day thank you for your amazing comment back to me and I hope you keep liking TV shows of this caliber and of yesteryears a few others that I really like, are Columbo, Hart-to-Hart ...CHiP'S and many others of past decade primarily the 70s and early 80s that was just a magical time in television to me that's like TV shows from the 60s like The Addams Family, the Munsters and definitely the Twilight Zone, and thank you once again for clarifying why Michael Douglas left such an amazing Blockbuster of a television series take care my dear friend*

​​@@paul.theeightiesluvr.1945 Yeah honestly despite my age I don't like limiting myself, as a lover of movies and TV I like exploring different eras. I am more an 80s girl, my favourite being The A-Team which I also have made content for. But occasionally older stuff comes along like Streets and the original Battlestar that I fall in love with too. It also helps when there's actors I like in them.
