"I'll just check the head gasket isn't damaged and there's no milky stuff on the cap" - Oil emulsification isn't always a sign of a head gasket issue. Engine breather pipes and blowby is also a possible issue.

I like the new episodes, Ant is not bad at all.
@jonathanneethling6 жыл бұрын
No disrespect to Ant. I just happen to think that M.B gets far to much credit for what he actually does...far far FAR too much credit. Yes he is engaging, but frankly there are a ton of people just on youtube that could do his job, and possibly do it better. Ed had a way about himself. After every episode you’d wish you could do what he does. Ed made everything possible, he made the viewers feel part of the solutions, and part of his job ... and to think he got tossed out because he wasn’t prepared to change that, is a pity. Look at 5th Gear - i think its called - final gear now. I don’t know for sure, because people behind the scenes changed the dynamic of the show. The Grand Tour is a success because there is loyalty among the presenters AND the crew! Its a team. A family. You cant fail... And thats why Ed is a legend. And thats why no body will remember the new season of Wheeler what? They’ll just fade away into obscurity, and one day you’ll walk in a greasy spoon and you’ll recognize ol’ Mike and say,” Werent you that guy? from that thing? What was it? “..... He’ll answer... but you’d have already lost interest and just ordered a coffee.
@Kjeldsen88006 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Neethling damn, you nailed that one. Ant's great I think, but yeah the ol' Mike and Ed cocktail was better, even though Mike som times pisses me off, but I usually skip some "Mike sections". I've learnt a lot from Ed and use a lot of his tips and tricks when I'm working at home on my cars as a hobby mechanic. Maybe an Ed and Ant car show? 😀

@SilverCanary16 жыл бұрын
After labour (which in most UK programmes seems to be completely ignored) there won't be a lot of change left over after they've reconditioned a 40 year old european cars brakes, interior, engine *and* given it a full respray and that's all providing there's nothing seriously wrong with the engine or anything else (gearbox, propshaft etc). After all that's been done they might not find a buyer for it at all or certainly not for what they want to sell it for...

Not sure that that check works on an OHC engine since there's oil being sprayed around all of the time to wash any white `mousse' away (amount of sprayed oil up to the cam cover presumably varies depending on the manufacturer). I assume these engines are OHC.

Although you have to admit Brewer comes across as a cheeky chappy bell end, he and Ed had good chemistry, the both of them like The Odd Couple were worth watching and definitely Ed working has magic on the dodgy cars Mike dragged back much like a cat dragging back a pathetic mouse looking at you and saying "Look what I found!" They should have sorted out their money differences and stayed together if only for the programme they had created which was uniquely theirs. Like an old married couple now split up.
