Mike Tramp has an incredible story. He lived the good life in the 80's and his popular band broke up so quickly. Then he struggled big time for many years because of rejection from the same record labels and TV networks that embraced only a few years earlier. You have to give Tramp a lot of credit for being humble enough to get a rental car and drive across America to play an acoustic guitar to not very many fans, in not the best towns, for just enough money for gas, a meal and a place to sleep at night.

Mike is a survivor for sure. And what the music industry (and their own management and label) did to a legitimate talent like White Lion was nothing short of criminal. Dang got to give this guy much credit for turning around the fall of such success and staying true to his craft, using his God given talent all the while being a nice, humble guy just wanting to play music! The record labels & managers really screwed them over! The change from hair bands to early 90s music hurt them greatly too. Too many great bands thrown in same fish bowl, terrible management not releasing albums during right times & not having the bands best interest at heart was heavy blows also. Glad he is doing well & continues doing what he loves! Talented guy, wish him well!

It's so interesting to learn how with all the success of White Lion, that the artists are left nearly penniless. They should honestly get to keep their songs and royalties without question. I met Mike at a club in Colorado Springs called The Gardens after his Japan tour with a makeshift band. They played as White Lion and it was a good show. I walked up and shook hands saying "Never let them take your heart." He smiled and said, "Good on you, Brother", then signed autographs before jumping in the limo and heading to a new town.😎🤘

Steve Vai explained about this thing in Rick Beato’s channel. “Musicians were scared of numbers” I paraphrased it a bit. An advice he got from Frank Zappa saved him a lot of money. And if only those less fortunate guys knew how to keep their publishing they might’ve earned for what they worked hard.
