I wrote an email to Mike probably 20 years ago and told him how during my time in the military (Gulf war) We would use his music as motivation. Especially the remake of Radar Love. To my surprise, he wrote back Thanked me for my service and explained how Vito didn’t want anything to do with music, at that time. It was a super cool thing for him to respond. 👍🏼👍🏼

Love it---Vito has investments in hotels and real estate--- he does not have to do this. He was so smart in the business sense to know what was going to happen. The 1987 cd was phenomenal....period. Thank you so much for the memories. Michael W produced those cds and they were perfect--- no doubt about it. In closing, we were so blessed to have grown up in this era. Now we have Lizzo....just saying.

Yeah I'm 51 and finally gave up on the dream of a return of hard rock to the mainstream consciousness. At this point, I'm just happy I have all those great memories of those fun days when hair metal ruled our lives and provided the soundtrack to our lives. I still remember kissing a girl at a senior dance while "Wait" played on the PA system. Still remember seeing the video of "Little Fighter" on MTV and feeling inspired by it's story and lyrics.

Right now James Lomenzo is busy in Megadeth. He was White Lion's bassist back in the day - I never even knew that. I saw Megadeth in September 2022 with James and I went to the VIP where they took some questions (pre-screened) and then I told him I used to play bass a lot and I looked down for a second and he placed his guitar / bass pick in my hand!! Then all of a sudden they were out of there! Next week I have an audition for a classic rock band and I look forward to at least jamming.

@@thomasbailey3511 If you dig into Nuno's work that MTV didn't overplay, you will find that he was/is a technical and creative monster on the guitar. Try Extreme's "Play with Me". If you are into that, it is definitely worth your time. Eddie was absolutely top-tier. Can't really rank these greats. As a musician - how can I NOT love the 80's ?!?!?!?! I not only grew up and was inspired to play guitar by 80's "hair" metal...the song quality and musicianship STILL stands up...AND the music is still A LOT of FUN !!!! Even my parents and a LOT of young people today are jamming 80's songs in their cars right to this very day...there is NOTHING to stigma the 80's about !!!! In closing - Vito has a sense of melody , feel , speed and technique that is simply STUNNING...not only is it VERY difficult to play his solos - few players have been able to compose such masterpieces of melodic metal in all the decades since !!

I've learned easy chords and ruff chords from guitarists through the years. But, when I really started{ [1984] @12} learning to keep it simple with 3 chords I'd practice twenty-minutes on Tuesday(non-stop)! Any who ; five years after was when I got to see White Lion(missed V|xen), and Ozzy Osbourne at the Ft. Wayne Colosseum. That was the best $14.00 my younger cousin spent on me, and I'll never forget the light above the drum-cage, or those awesome solos from Vito Bratta. Four years later was when I could play Whit Lion- When The Children Cry. So many songs in one's catalog, and another reason to play the last song you learn up to the very first song you have learned. Thank you, Mike Tramp for this interview. Now, I remember that you Rock. Rock on, man!!!

I have respect for Mike for how far he went on just work ethic alone, (plus looks I guess) Every SINGLE word Mike says in this interview was planned out. Notice how he doesn’t mention Van Halen when speaking about the great bands in 1984? Nobody was bigger than VH in 1984. White Lion was trying to be an exact copy. Even the Wait video reminds you of the Jump video. He also said every band was following the “blond lead singer and dark haired band” formula that MOTLEY CRUE started 😂. Search for the story when Mike Tramp was a liaison for Van Halen in 80 or 81. His band was called “Studs” when DLR told him everything he needed to do to be successful in America. You got to hand it to Tramp, he was an unstoppable force that knew what he wanted. The best thing to come out of White Lion musically was Vito.

Hilarious how these Danish guys sound so similar when they speak English. Lars still has that swing too... it's normal I know but it's an interesting thing to listen to.

When I was a child in secondary school in England in the 80s a girl recorded white lion on cassette tape for me with the band Icon on another tape. She was not a typical rocker in her appearance it schocked me she was so posh.

Amazingly underrated talented band. Everyone can totally hold their own against anybody. Would love if Vito put out anything new to hear some more of what he has to offer

Don’t know what he’s saying regarding Duran Duran not having a fanbase. They’ve been playing to thousands of ppl a night for 20 years since their reunion. Way bigger than any 80’s metal band except the Stadium tour which required two (or three) of the biggest names of the era to draw big numbers. But DD draws thousands every night all over the world.

I read somewhere years ago that Vitto said he couldn't play like he used to anymore. I don't know if because of the hand injury our just lack of playing over the years, but I doubt he would be ripping solos like he used to back in the day if he came out of retirement.

Whitesnake was formed and named in the late 1970s. Original line up was all British, they were UK based and existed before all those other US bands mentioned.

Back in the day, Vitto was taking what Eddie did and made it his own. I really hope he will come out of retirement and play.....even if it is a "farewell" tour.....give us a lasting memory

I believe Vito's injury to be quite true, years ago I also snapped something in my wrist and had the same symptons as to what he described as electric shocks when playing certain things on guitar and haven't heard anyone else ever describing it in that way, I had seen a doctor about it and it is carpal tunnel syndrome, was told it needs lots of rest as it is an inflammation of the wrist, surgery can potentially cause more damage from what I was told , as a result I only record whenever I can and haven't been able to play in bands for years, some days are better than others but to play in a band you have to be fairly consistent which wouldn't be fair to a band, so he's done the right thing.

Vitto had an ego....I remember the Bruno(danger danger bassist) about how he quit WL cuz Vitto told him he was a bass player...not a writer. Well that turned out to bite em...cuz Bruno wrote some killer songs in Danger Danger.

Once you get typecast as an artist, the fans won't let you move on. And for this reason, the record industry won't let you move on either. Look at Pantera. Many fans of Pantera won't let that band move on even though 2 of it's members are dead. It's officially a Pantera Tribute band, yet the fans keeps calling it a reunion.

Mike rules and such a good and honest guy, especially here in this interview. Their label cost them 18 months of holding them up. That time would've solidified their position. By the time they were up and running the scene was getting weird and bands getting dropped. Their second album was also a bit odd and different. Too many Warrants and Trixters also killed the environment. They should've been huge ultimately considering their talent, and they would have made a big album.
GREG D’ANGELO history of WHITE LION & is a reunion possible?
