When the Devil favours it means he gives you to destroy yourself and others and he does so by giving powers to the person. Satan gives many people many things. His hate and favor are not at odds. He trips you up to make you become more destructive to yourself and others. One person he is content to keep weak and he just lets him be. In Satans book leaving that person alone is better. When someone can affect positively he then hates that person more intensely and if he cant for example destroy that person through others he can give that person favor instead so they can misuse it. Basically Satan does not mind giving power if it destroys a person but its usually something he does to people who God have good plans for. Let that sink in instead
