I love Mike Tyson's character arc. He truelly redeemed himself in the end. He went from a toxic person to a philosopher. Such an interesting individual. This is also what I love about life and about people in general. Some folk can undergo real metamorphoses. What a dynamic person. I have never seen a man I fear more, respect more, admire more, care for and just find myself wanting to KNOW... than Mike. Mike is indomitable. Even if you manage to knock him down, can you KEEP him down? Not until his last breath. Even at the age he is, watching him train you think you are looking at a man half his age. His speech has failed to impress nitwits who think a mans intelligence is determined by how pretty the sound coming out. But Mike has a Wisdom, intelligence, and a (REAL) Understanding of LIFE. Sorry, he just impresses the hell out of me. Especially the part about crying and becoming something he hated but he had to do. I've admired Mike Tyson since I was a kid in the '80s. I think there's something about brokenness recognizing brokenness, and as someone who’s often felt broken and misunderstood, that connection has always resonated with me when I watched him. I’m not sure what a "typical" Mike Tyson fan looks like, but apparently, it’s not me-people are always surprised when I say he’s one of my heroes. But when he speaks with the raw honesty he does in videos like this, he completely blows me away. He doesn’t need me in his corner, but as a devoted fan, I’ll always be there.
