Honestly, this is a joke. Such an empty room for the best Punch Out speedrunner. He did SPO blindfolded, he did MTPO blindfolded race vs Sinister1. HE PLAYED MTPO AND SPO AT THE SAME TIME WITH 1 CONTROLLER!

To be fair, he's not doing any of that here. This is a normal run, which is naturally less hype.

Man, Zallard deserved a big, cheering crowd for this. We all now how brutal and execution heavy this game can be. Bravo to Zall's skills and Klaige's knowledgeable commentary!
@dizzyroach2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, after all the runs Zallard has had to do in front of massive live crowds it's probably a relief to have a chill run where it doesn't feel like all eyes are on him. While it may not have been the hype-fueled run people wanted, this run was still a mighty impressive one and one that everyone should remember from the 2018 AGDQ

The fight circuit in this game is bizarre. There's no weight classes at all, the ref comes up to most people's kneecaps, the ring is clearly meant for Mac-sized people yet he's the "little" one up against people literally three times his height and five times his mass, Mac is known for his jumps despite those being his weakness years later... I mean no wonder later on nobody was surprised that he was in a fight against a karate master that got invaded by a giant wrestler cat.
@grammaticalrouge296 жыл бұрын
If it wears gloves (and in the case of the wrestler cat a belt) it's 100% legal on the W.V.B.A. eyes.
@GanzoHasashi19115 жыл бұрын
Grammatical Rouge That’s pretty much the only rule in the Punch Out Universe. Which explains why they allow grabbing, using weapons, headbutts, elbows, Performance Enhancing Sodas, kicking, spitting, hair whips, using items for body protection, and magical teleportation

Nobody could get into the convention center by this point, the lines were stupidly long for anyone getting their badge that day, and almost anyone there at the event by this point was checking out the convention itself and waiting to buy merch and stuff, so there wasn't many people at the GDQ room yet.

So how does frame perfect work? I've had several successful perfect first rounds against tyson where i took no damage and never missed a punch, yet ive never had enough time to get the third knockdown in the first round. Also does is matter if you punch left, left or left, right? Does one way do more damage?
@empirecrumbles6153 жыл бұрын
lrlr does more damage than llll or rrrr on all but sandman i believe

I believe in the NES version you press Start to star punch. You must have at least one star
@OptimusVlad6 жыл бұрын
Note: The commentator mentions that the game runs at 60fps -- that's not correct. Old NES games were lucky if they could even run at 30fps. Even the output of the TV themselves were capped at 30fps, because that's all that TVs could output in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000's. The commentator must be confusing other aspects with FPS; perhaps *fields* per seconds, for interlaced TVs.
@knurlgnar246 жыл бұрын
This is false. This game was objectively 60fps as were all NES games. This is a hardware characteristic.
