@drumtum22 күн бұрын
Well Nielsen was not great. But he was still a very good boxer and difficult to beat for many big names in the 90´s. I think many people saw him as not good because of his sloppy frame. But if you win a medal at the olympics like he did in 1992 you are not bad. As a pro he was certainly helped in facing most of the big names back home in Denmark . But he whopped quite a few including Holmes and Witherspoon. Super Brian had one interesting career for sure, and this was his big payday against Tyson. 64 wins out of 67 fights for Nielsen.

Brian Nielsen understood that there was no real chance of him winning this fight against Iron Mike Tyson after round 6... But he was still clear enough of mind... To realise the fact that carrying on... May have meant permanent brain injury or even death... Not only was he a very brave fighter to step into the ring with such a brutal puncher as Iron Mike Tyson... But he still had the sense to admit defeat and suffer the TKO... Rather than allowing himself to take a punishing beating for several more grueling rounds of boxing... When he knew his continuing to fight on... Would've sadly been in vane... A very brave and a very smart pugilist. 🥊
