As if Ali really said that. He leaned in for half a second and said “Good Luck” same thing Ali said to Holmes 5 seconds before when he was over in Holmes corner. People need to start learning that the whole “Tyson got revenge for Ali by beating Holmes” story is HEAVILY fabricated. 95% fiction. Tyson was 6 FN years old when Ali and Holmes became friends. 1972-75 Holmes was Ali’s sparring partner. Holmes loved Ali. Holmes cried after his fight vs Ali. Holmes continually tried to get the ref to stop it. Holmes was the champ. Ali came out of retirement and insisted that he wanted to fight Holmes. Holmes didn’t want to face Ali because he knew Ali should stay retired. That whole story is such garbage that the original version from back around 1986-87 didn’t even have Holmes in it. The original version was “Tyson getting revenge for Ali by beating Trevor Berbick. (Berbick was Ali’s final fight of his career and Berbick won. 3 years later Berbick is who Tyson beat to become the youngest HW champ ever. Then the story began. The original Tyson vs Berbick version. I personally first saw the Tyson vs Holmes version about 20 years later (2006) online.

Absolutely agree, I don't think he ever should have fought Ali though. It tarnished his legacy in my opinion and overshadowed the great and unique boxer he truly was. The payback he got from Tyson though was well deserved though. Like Ali, he too had one last match well past his prime and was defeated unceremoniously. Rocky Marciano knew after he'd beat Joe Louis he didn't want to go out like that.

You have to stop and think for a second .....and take it on board....tyson was 21, undisputed and cleaning the division out...brushing the old guard aside with ease and taking no prisoners...no wonder he says he lost his youth to boxing.at 21 i was still figuring my way through lifes maze let alone knowing what i wanted to do..he was a wrecking ball with one purpose.......destruction and pain....glad he's got his faculties intact and is enjoying his life.

After watching Mike fight the other evening with Jake, I came here to watch something that I had seen back in 1988. Goodness, Mike was truly a beast in his younger years and unbelievable talent. My memory serves me well, as I remember this fight. I realize that there have been many great fighters, but next to Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson is one of the best to date.
