Tough call. People keep saying Mike Tyson is the same as Joe Frazier and while Frazier has the legendary will too fight, prime Tyson is much quicker with better footwork than Frazier so he could potentially land a lot more shot in than Frazier did.

And the referee gave Foreman a very fast count that was like a 7 second count. Foreman could have continued although he would have lost a decision. George didn't know about controlling his tempo at this point in his career, so he would go all out and get completely exhausted. This played into Ali's strengths of precise punching and stamina.

All anyone has to do is to watch the Foreman vs Holyfield fight. Foreman came very close to winning, but he was old when that happened. What would have happened if Foreman would've been in his prime? It would've been sleep time for Holyfield. And, just think, Holyfield DID beat Tyson.

@@Djuane yeah, like I said, I could see a case for both because Tyson was an unbelievable athlete but he is only really dangerous coming forward in the beginning of fights, then he slows down quite a bit. I think Foreman would press with that size and constant power shots. Tyson can't fight going backwards but he maybe could make it inside fight and hurt George.

I don’t even bother debating this topic. George Foreman beats Tyson every day of the week and twice on Sundays, and I’m 99.8% certain of this. Even Cus D’amotto believed that there was no way Tyson could beat Foreman. Tyson couldn’t bully Foreman, and Tyson being almost a carbon copy of Frazier would undoubtedly meet the same fate Smokin’ Joe did each time he fought Foreman. Tyson wanted nothing you do with Foreman, and that was very smart in his part.

I just can't see Foreman getting knocked out by 1 punch, and Tyson wasn't known for his long distance fights. George's head was a standing target in the Hollyfield fight, and Evander said in an interview, he could have gotten knocked out by George in the 10th, if he hadn't been smart and not trade with George later on in the closing rounds. I pick George in this one, in my opinion he is the GOAT.

I'd rather see 90's George vs prime Tyson, 90's George had all the grit and power of young George- but with more technique and strategy... Big George also was considerably taller and heavier than Tyson too... Foreman some took BOMBS from Holyfield and kept standing, so I'm not seeing Tyson ending the fight by KO... I see Foreman gridding out a KO in the later rounds... Foreman fought the some of the best heavyweights of all time, so I don't think Tyson will intimidate Foreman. Tyson had speed, athleticism, and great technique- where as Foreman had size, strategy, mental toughness, and experience- got to go with Big George!

He also lost focus and did not train hard anymore. He was completely unprepared for the Douglas fight. Got beat, then realized he needed to train again. Did that, but he still wasn't the same without Rooney. The 90-91 Tyson that fought Ruddock was not as good as the 87-88 Tyson. That version stops Ruddock in 5 rounds max. _Now george forrman is known as one of the heaviest punchers ever_ That's irrelevant if he won't be able to land.

I’d say Mikes speed, combos and most overlooked headmovment would have been the deciding factor. I know Joe Frazier moved his head but it was nothing compared to Mikes. Love Big George also though 👊❤️

Styles Make Fights !!! George would've always have his Number!!! A short-armed Swarmer/Mauler(like Mike Tyson,Joe Frazier,David Tua) will constantly lose to a Very Powerful,Tall Bruiser/Slugger with Overwhelming Reach on you like George Foreman or Sonny Liston. Even a Rooney-Trained Prime Mike Tyson Cannot Beat an old George Foreman, he wouldve got the Joe Frazier-Jamaica-Treatment.

George Foreman uses the most important Punch, the Jab , not (only) as a Rangefinder but more Like a Ramrod/Poleaxe-Jab to hurt the shorter Boxer, who desperately tries to get inside and continues to Assault you with his Crushing Uppercuts and Hooks. A Guy like David Tua, who never got knocked out in any professional match would lose dramatically against rangy Boxer-Sluggers like Sonny Liston and Big George. David Tua lost to the Great Cuban Felix Savón( great Left Jab and One of Strongest Straight Right Hands Ever) by Knockout. Or Sonny Liston knocked the Undisputed Champ Patterson in the first Round in their 2 Fights out. Even Though Frazier gave Ali Hell and Trouble all the Time, Ali beat Foreman, but Foreman completely dominated and manhandled Joe Frazier. Just because A beats B, and B beats C, does not necessarily mean that C gets beaten by A

I just saw again the movie "When We Were Kings", and Ali was able to figure out Foreman, but those other guys that just went head to head and that's the way Tyson fought, you just can't beat a young 24 year old Foremen that way. And Tyson got knocked out by Buster Douglas. Part of Tyson's mystic is people were terrified of him even before they got in the ring. IN their minds they already lost even before the fight started. I remember that fight and Michal Spinks looked like he was about to cry even during introductions, like he was about to face Jason from Halloween, that's how scared he looked! Foreman would not be afraid.

I really think foreman and mayweather have slightly similar careers from the standpoint of young floyd was more aggressive and wild while older floyd was more smart and technical same thing with foreman his younger days he would just gas himself out trying to land a KO while in his older days where he beat michael moore he was a more smarter boxer so the point im trying to make is that older foreman has a BETTER chance to beat tyson than younger foreman 💯 70s foreman would just tire himself out and mike probably would’ve gotten him outta there by the 7th or 8th round

I have gone back on forth on this one just as I have prime Holmes vs. Prime Foreman. Both Tyson and Foreman had short primes. For Mike it was 87 to 88. For George it was perhaps 73 till the fight in Zaire. George was not the same after that Ali fight. He was psychologically devasted by that fight. Mike began a decline shortly after the Spinks fight. Firing Rooney was the beginning of the end for Mike. So for this fight I would have to take the George of Frazier 1 and Kenny Norton against the Tyson of Holmes and Spinks. Yes we could add the Berbick fight also. This could go one of two ways. Mike could effectively cover using his peak a boo defense and counter with brutal body shots and then come up stairs. The double hook was his best punch. If successful he puts Foreman away inside of four rounds. Or Foreman would use his reach and jab Tyson to help set up huge punches. He would push and wrestle Mike around to keep range. I must point out with prime George it did not matter if what he hit. I saw him knock a guy across the ring by hitting him on the shoulder. He could connect to the side Mike's head and knock his guard down with brutal punches. What Ali did in Africa was something no other fighter could have done. Even though the majority of his punches were not connecting some did. And even the punches to the arms and hips would devastate most fighters. Ali had super speed and skill to counter with very straight fast shots to George's face to further keep wear on him. But I can't think of any other fighter who would have survived those first 4 rounds like Ali did. Of course Mike would not try a Rope A Dope or be an easy target like Frazier. But the question is would it matter if George was clubbing him. Even punches that hit gloves or shoulders do serious damage. I could easily see this either way and both would be capable of knocking the other out. And there is no way this goes beyond 6 rounds. One of the two will be counted out or be out on his feet forcing the ref to stop the contest. If forced to pick a winner I would go with George. But I would not put much money on it. George foreman’s mummy style would’ve completely snuffed out Tyson’s LIGHTING like attacks. A lot of people don’t pay attention to his strategy but he completely prevents attacks from ever happening because of the the way he throws people around and shoved at their arms, and foreman is stronger than Tyson. They both are intimidating as hell, but I see George pushing back Mike with both of his tree trunk arms not allowing Mike to get close to unleash his combo. I see a push or two and a sledge hammer jab with a cross that will send Mike in a another dimension. Same fate as Joe Frazier. but end will come even quicker because Mike wouldn’t keep getting up to get beaten up some more.

joe fought in a straight line moved head to much and up and down threw jabs and straight hooks did 2 punch combos Tyson fought in a straight line bkut once close punched from angles moved head around not just simple like joe didnt throw much jabs threw wide hooks jumped into punches when he was a distance from the person mike did this tyson would dodge while doin combos joe didnt do that ether did 4 or 5 punch combos mike did this joe fought from close range mike was mid range mike was a counter puncher joe wasnt a counter puncher he was a ducking and then punch take 1 and give one Not similar at all see how you shouldn't repeat quotes other followes who dont watch say so you had no reason to say a joe vs george match as it made no sense to compare

@@ascendediam it's just an honest question, I didn't repeat any quotes. I've seen Mike Tyson's fights. But I haven't watched Joe Frazier's fights nearly as much, mainly just his losses to George Foreman. If Tyson fought Foreman, he would have to get past that defense. Foreman just held Frasier back and bombed away.

Mike was a terror in his prime but if anyone had the right style to beat him it would be big George. He was just too strong and was such a heavy hitter that I think he had the perfect style to beat any of the "swarming" fighters, (Marciano, Frazier, Tyson, Dempsey) and he could take a punch too if Mike did land. There's a Foreman fight here on youtube of a fighter (I can't remember who) who was fighting a post Norton Foreman and in his corner he said to his trainers "you gotta stop this, this guy is going to put me in the hospital"
