I have to say this song had me in tears the first time I heard it. If you've watched other reaction videos, you may have trouble understanding the reaction of us 50+ fans when we say that we were running around weeping and grinning and laughing all at the same time. There has been a lot of discussion about who the "you" in the song refers to. The group? The music? The fans? The creativity? All of those are true, but for me, it means myself. Watching all the background videos, especially the videos of the recording sessions was empowering (I hate that word, but it's the only one that really fits).They are older of course, have put on some weight, have gray hair (when they still have any), are wearing glasses, have wrinkles on their faces and double chins and age spots. In other words, they look like me. And if they can go back into the studio (in their 70s!) and record an entire new album, create their ABBAtars, and start concertizing again, then maybe this 67 year old can also still accomplish something if I only have faith in myself. After all, we have a story and it has survived. 🙂

The thing about this song is it is biographical; as soon as Bjorn heard the melody he knew it had to be about them. But you miss the point of the why you are seeing what you saw. They ABBATARS are dated to 1979 and so they took you to that year. They showed you them going on stage, which will eventually be their digital motion capture selves, leading from their childhood to 1979. That is why you did not see anything older. The show is magnificent. The album is magnificent. ABBA is magnificent.

They don't copy anyone don't try and keep up with trends. They just stay faithful to the music they want to write. They are the GOLD standard of pop and I genuinely believe they will never be bettered. ❤

"The one who waits for something good..."... Still this gets me so emotional... This is the music of all my childhood.. My upbringing.. Something that is in the soul of many Swedes... They are probably some of the richest Swedes there are. So they are not doing this for money. They are doing this for the love of the fans and for each other... They are all very humble down to earth people. And they have had their struggles in life too. My interpretation of this song is that even they may doubt themself.. Do I still have it in me... And that they finally find out that the age and years are not in the way. They still can... And honestly how many bands take a 39 years break. Comes back when they all are over 70 years old... And still yes still touch hearts.. And show that pop don't need to be a teenager or similar to be the best at it. Nowadays it's way to much artists that from the record companies don't get any support after they pass the 30ths. This is healing music for very many. And I think it comes in a time when many people really needs something like this in their life.

Until now two new ABBA songs have been known, both different in their themes and leading voices And both have the ABBA trademark on their solvency in musical composition and production We know the great spirit of perfection that Björn and Benny impress on their creations, and both new creatures live up to their great successes of the 80s. So the biggest mystery was to know the state of the voices of Agnetha and Frida and how they could react to the inevitable passing of the decades and their possible comparisons with previous classics. And I must also say that they both look very good And in that "look" there is an extraordinary job of caring for Björn and Benny to "take care" of their historical singers and former partners. They gave them two wonderful songs, with beautiful melodies and deep lyrics, but they were also surrounded by the iconic hooks and the appeal to emotional nostalgia "I still have faith in You" is an unpublished song in its conception in the history of ABBA because it is self-referential about them as a group, and it is also testimonial, because they tell us about their experiences in all this time Musically it is a ballad with mystical and epic A stately and majestic piano, and Frida's soft voice conducts and recreates ABBA's story with poignant beauty, with Agnetha joining in some verses to emphasize The sound of the drums arrives (a nod to the mega hit "Fernando") as if preparing the change of rhythm And with a powerful guitar comes that first unpublished chorus, because this time all ABBA sings from the bowels of its history and with the strength of its testimony of life, of healing and togetherness. And in the second chorus, even stronger, it becomes very clear that ABBA sings with the passion and courage that Björn's excellent lyrics stand out, it is like a triumphant song of their survival and their bond. And it ends with a solo by Frida, flawless, with the flutes at the end Also isn't a commercial song (more than 5 minutes) it's so emotional, with a fantastic vídeo of all greatest memories of pictures, official videos of 70s songs and Australia tour ABBA really comes back at high level The world needs ABBA sound

In these times of Pandemic strife, Abba's new songs are a pleasant relief "even if for a short while" and elevate me back to the 70's . This song and all the new songs released are so well done and the girls vocals are unbelievable for their age. All the productions are high end. This song seems to have the most western influence I've ever heard of all their songs. Love love love it. Very nostalgic. Since the George Lucas production created Abbatars, they are now immortalized as we remembered them in the 70's, pretty cool.

There is no surprise that this was the first of the new songs heard. It's very personal in it's lyrics, asking of themselves if they can still create great songs. It's all tied in to the avatar show which these first two songs will feature. We can well imagine the lighters (are they still allowed?) and phones being lit up at the shows for this one. It's also especially poignant for the fans who have continued to follow them all these years. They've still got it.

Great reaction Mike and Ginger 👌 it's great that Abba are back and i think you might like the other 2 new tracks as well, they have that old Abba feel to them. We have tickets for the concert next year but Ginger i agree with you about the avatars because i would prefer to see Abba in concert as they are now because it's not going to be the same even it will probably be a great experience. My cousin used to work with Bjorn Ulvaeus in the 80's on the musical Chess and last year he told me that they were holding auditions in London for Abba lookalikes for a show but at this point we didn't know Abba were reforming. So then when they announced the details about the avatar concert this year it all made sense. If you look closely at Frida in the video near the end of the song you can also see the face of her avatar appear as well and it did freak me out a bit when i seen it. Looking forward to your reactions to their other new songs... ✨✨✨ABBA✨✨✨

Hit the nail on the head there. ABBA worked with ILM over the past 4 years to create the ABBAtars. ABBA themselves did the physical performances themselves so it actually isn't really a copy of them, just deaged with the help of CGI magic courtesy of ILM. The reality is the band is in their 70s so unable to endure a lengthy world tour which is understandable.
@aperinich3 жыл бұрын
and of course, especially if it helps de-creep you just a little bit, ABBA is doing this themselves so its not just a studio cashing in on their legacy, but they themselves preserving it for well seriously at least a few years of sell-out shows. I think pre-sales for November 2022 are about to come out, but it starts in May and has up to several "sessions" per day. I know its ultra commercial, but ABBA is a commercial band, just one that is endearing and humble enough for people to really not mind giving billions of dollars to... :D

They have in an interview in Swedish television explained why they made the decision to go with ABBAtars. No one wants to see 70+ years members of a Discoband. They said. My guess is also that this prevents touring if anyone of them has an issue with that. Health- or mental that is. Couse touring would come in high demand if they performed live. Much Love 💙💛💙
@ajayjackson77273 жыл бұрын
yeah i know they made that decision but to be honest i think their fans would prefer to see them live and as they are now instead of avatars. Fleetwood Mac are the same ages as Abba and they still tour so really Abba could still tour. It was Benny's son Ludvig who came up with the idea of the avatar concerts and ticket prices being £180-£400 looking back it seems a bot of a rip off because as Ginger mentioned it it is Abba but at the same time it's not them, it's just an illusion.

@@ajayjackson7727 Yes, and Rolling Stones are older and still going strong rocking arena's. So I see what you mean. Didn't know about the ticket prices? That's A LOT for a ticket!
