The male chorus in this one was a surprise for Aurora she had no idea they were there for her.... All part of the Haik documentary where artists give over control and are taken out and treated to various surprises as a thankyou for sharing their talent. Its an brilliant concept for a program. Aurora doesn't like backtracks, so she doesn't use any for the most part of her songs. Who you hear here is Silja Sol. She is part of her band and sings in the background. She also goes solo and sings her own songs. The male choir, like many other things, was part of a surprise day for Aurora. All she knew was that she was going to give a concert, nothing else. She didn't know where it was taking place either.

The music video is worth a watch too, just on your own time. Fun fact; if you think Aurora looks little taken aback by the choir here, it is because she was; the HAIK concerts are sort of "your dream day" for artists, and there are plenty of surprises for the during the whole day. The choir stepping in was her last surprise. (She LOVES male choir song.) Happy to see you guys coming back to our little Norse lady :)

You should really watch the HAIK documentary, taking place the same day as the concert. A TV team from NRK took her around to many surprises, this concert being the end of the day. The Seed is imo a masterpiece of a song, and you should watch the video, also a masterpiece. Looking forward the the next one. I suggest Forgotten love, live at Lindmo. Beautiful, as are your reactions!! PS: The counter melody on the chorus is sung by her regular back-up singer, Silja Sol. She has a fantastic voice, too.

@@donepearce Native Americans used as much of the animal as they could. Hides for clothing, shelter, bedding, and so forth. Meat for food, bones and horns for tools, jewellery, tableware, arrow heads, and the like. Paunches for canteens, buckets, wrappings. Very little, if anything, of the animals did go to waste, and they avoided killing more bison than they needed. The bison population was doing all right, by the way. Around the time the Mayflower arrived at Plymouth Bay in 1620, the best educated guess is that somewhere between 25 and 30 million bison roamed the country. Then after the end of the American Revolutionary War in 1783 settlers began to push further and further west. By the end of the 19th century there were less than a hundred bison left in North America. The main reasons were trophy hunting, tongues and horns mainly, and killing entire herds at once to rob the Natives of an important resource in order to make subjugating them easier. Native Americans lived for 10,000 years on the continent without having a damaging impact on the bison population, but then civilisation came along in the form of pale-skinned Europeans and 250 years later there were virtually no bison left at all. Make your argument again. I fucking dare you.

Take Mike with you, Ginger (once this virus thingy is past tense). The location of this concert is just outside the Lyse Abbey outside Bergen. A couple of course away you can visit Lyse Fiord - where Tom Cruise was making Mission Impossible Fallout. Spend a week and catch the train and buy a day or weekend pass at one of the dozens of music festivals we have going. Get your bums over to one of our jazz-festivals where you may see Aurora, American jazz-gods like Wynton Marsalis, electronica-gods like Biosphere and Angelina Jordan in a day (Scandinavian Jazz is a huge canvas). If covid is lifted - Jaga Jazzist is going to play at Molde-Jazz in July. I am planning to go. So is most of Europe. (Check out the "Oban live" or one of their concert videos on youtube). And no - the scream/voice you hear in the background is not Aurora pre-recorded. It is the dark-haired lady playing the old-school synthesizer who is Aurora's second voice. When they go acapella or unplugged she is sometimes playing the guitar - and her name is Silja Sol - being a full-time solo-artist herself when she is not sprinkling magic dust-harmonies on top of Aurora. The agitation of Aurora from boys stripping down to their shirts is because this is a HAIK-concert where our NRK broadcasting company gives a loved artist a hike for a whole day. Ending with a concert the artist herself does not know where and how will unfold. The secret gift to Aurora from NRK was a male choir joining from being undercover. NRK has always given Norwegian artists the "Milli Vanilli test". Milli Vanilli was a European pop band of two very pretty singers back around 1990. Turned out the two boys were just pretty and not singers, as they mimed over some less pretty (i guess) vocalists' backing tracks. Backing tracks is something we do not take easily over here. Bring Mike with you. After we stopped being a bit violent tourists as Vikings a thousand years ago - we are a rather friendly bunch towards visitors coming in peace :)
