This video (and part 1 of course) was one of the most enjoyable photography lessons I've ever watched on KZbin. I love to see genuine people taking genuine pictures using everyday materials. Doing it because you can, you want to and you're enjoying it.... Not simply to make money from advertising gadgets and such. Another superb video from you Mike and huge credit to Peter :)

Really enjoyed that. We've had a really wet cloudy day today. Not good at all for being outside with the camera, although the light does lend itself to some photography. But, to have clues for indoor play with what we've got at home . .. .brilliant! We are only limited by our thinking!!

Thanks. I really want to make some wedding photography videos and am looking into it. It's hard to explain what's going on at a wedding unless we film at one. I'm looking into it - as well as keeping an eye open for a couple who'd be up for us filming at their wedding because it can be intrusive and we don't want to spoil the day. I'm working on it.

I'm sorry I don't do stock photography - only commissions. Had a go at it a few years back but it wasn't for me so I don't have much experience with it. If anything changes I'll make a film about it.

A very kind friend just gave me his (hardly used) Sony NEX-7 for Xmas along with a matching 30mm Macro lens. So was trawling KZbin for some ideas on winter macro photography, and came across your 2 part video with Peter. What an inspirational find ! So have spent a fun Boxing Day afternoon, pinching my sons toys and pestering my wife to pinch fruit and veg from the fridge. Am now chilling some beer and liquor bottles tonight (OK I might drink a couple), to see if I can get some interesting chilled pics with them tomorrow. Thanks again to you both for such a great video - and I will obviously be joining your subscriber army, and looking forward to more inspiration in the New Year...

that was great, both pt1 & pt2, could you use a flash gun on one side of the flower if the natural light dropped. also use a flash gun under the tomatoes and kiwi to get the same 'see through' effect on the sliced fruit?

I love your videos...I have a silly question...I finally got used to using my manual settings and have recently purchased a 60mm macro lens to shoot jewelry shots...I was told I must put the camera Canon T3i dslr in macro mode setting when using a macro lens...I disagreed but would like to know your thought??
@MikeBrowne11 жыл бұрын
Hmmm - I've never used a Canon T3i Ellen Goldman so i can't comment. On my old Nikons you can use it in any mode and i don't see why it should be different on yours. If anyone else knows please help Ellen out and leave a reply....
@goodboyrg2111 жыл бұрын
most appreciated :)) Thanks Mike Browne!
@peterlittle66518 жыл бұрын
No need to put it in macro mode Ellen let the lens you paid for do that.

@MikeBrowne8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tony - sorry I have no idea. It was a very long time ago. If you want to do something similar I recommend you buy some daylight balanced bulbs for your lamps so they can mix with window light. Get proper 6500K ones - not just blue bulbs sold in sewing shops - MIKE
