Real smart buy on the FJ Mike...I too feel like the FJ is going to be a classic someday thats why I didn’t modify any of the body parts,but i lift 2-1/2 front and 1-1/2 rear with Belstein 5100 with new tires BFG KO 2 285/17 with stock rims for now hopefully in the future with new rims.

I wish you would have focused a little on the bumper valance transfer. I am replacing mine and I am not sure if that piece is held on with metal clips or nuts. Mine were completely rusted, now I need to find replacements and I have no idea what to get. If you have any ideas please let me know.

It's held on with nuts. You should be able to remove that without taking the whole bumper off which would save you a lot of trouble too.

I don't understand why so much hate for the bumper guard. If nothing else it makes the FJ look much better. I am thinking of adding something to mine. Any suggestions?

They're considered 'damage multpliers'. As the 2 small mounts are only on the base, even a small impact can cause the whole guard to roll back and squash indicators, grill, mutiple panels...

Nice tutorial! Is the front bumper soley attached by the push clips and 12 m bolts? Just pull and "push" back on, or are there retaining clips involved? Also, I know this is a few years old, but can you provide me the vendor you purchased your new bumper from?

Why even go to the pain of showing us how to take the bumper off if you don't even show us how to transfer the parts to the new bumper from the old bumper, like the wings!
