Looks naked without a roof rack and side steps but you are going for the minimalist look. I'd finish blacking out the grille area and headlight surround, maybe blacken the rear bumper silver end caps. Plasticote black paint would probably work well.

Sorry, didn't have sound when I watched this. But, I will say, those bumper caps are STRONG. I accidentally backed up into my neighbors Subaru Outback a few years back. Her sheet metal was all caved in and damaged pretty bad. My rear bumper cap had NOTHING but a couple tiny scratches. NO dents at all, not loose at all. Just looks like someone 'keyed' it. It's plastic, so it won't rust, and I don't care to fix it because it is so minimal (her car cost $2,500 to fix). I could take them all off, sand them, and repaint them (so they all look the exact same). But, I see no need to do that.
@dironaa3 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are surprisingly strong. I clipped a traffic barrel with one once, it without a doubt prevented my turn signal from getting smashed.

I'd recommend checking out Wranglers too (I prefer the 97-06 TJ generation over the more recent 07-18 JK generation, and the TJs tend to be more reliable than the JKs too). I like the FJ but find myself reaching for the keys to my Jeep more often when leaving the house.

That's the beauty of car customization: anyone can choose modify (or not) their vehicle to fit their personal preferences or needs making each one unique in its own way, after all it would be quite dull looking at the same vehicle over and over again with no difference from owner to owner. now im dealing with converter shudder in over drive I put a tube of SR Tranny instant shudder fix ,worked for a week and now its back a bit so im thinking of putting two more in. if that don't do it Im in for a expensive converter repair about 2400 dollars. sucks im only 39000 miles no warranty its 10 years old
@dironaa6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that does really suck. I have a friend with an auto and he had the same problem with his around 130k miles; he tried two tubes without much luck as well. We pulled the transmission ourselves and mailed the torque converter to a rebuilding facility then got it back in about a week. Saved quite a bit of money but with all the rust we get in the northeast US it was quite the chore and I wouldn't look forward to doing it again! Hopefully the second tube works better for you than it did for him!
@HouseDrone16 жыл бұрын
what was his problem with it. Im on SSD and this really is scaring me.
@HouseDrone16 жыл бұрын
i was thinking the problem may lie in the valve body that the 5th gear solenoid not closing good or hanging up because the tranny treatment worked real good for a week and im thinking its just too diluted now to keep working so maybe more might help like 10 tubes..lol
@dironaa6 жыл бұрын
So far the rebuilt torque converter has been installed for a few thousand miles and the problem hasn't come back yet, so knock on wood hopefully it's fixed for good. The automatic FJs and Tacomas commonly have problems with the shudder and manual FJs have been known to have problems with the throwout bearing...would sure be a lot of happy people if Toyota owned up to these problems and issued a recall, or even offered a repair at discounted rate.
