This year has brought massive change for so many people around the world. Everybody has been affected by this pandemic, wherever you live and whatever you do. For the live music fans, we miss that energy, that connection. Shows and Distancing, my third album and first live album, has arrived at a time where I hope at least some sense of relief and nostalgia can be provided to you.
Recorded throughout last year on the road in the USA, this record takes you through support sets with Justin Hayward (Moody Blues), headline shows, a live duet from Los Angeles and even excerpts from my first ever headline concert from over the pond. New York, Florida and California, three of my favourite places. I hope to return soon!

I saw Michael Hedges in Ann Arbor years ago. We were in line and I hear this voice “I’ll see you at the Bell Tower”…it was Michael driving slowly by venue. It set the atmosphere for me. I was in this sacred space that I will forever cherish.

Mike Dawes opens and plays with Justin Hayward. I saw them four years ago and I'll get to see them again at the Winery in Nashville in November. They've rescheduled the show several times since the beginning of Covid. When I saw him he got a standing ovation in Nashville, one of the most critical musical cities. The talent in Nashville is unbelievable and Mike is unbelievable as well! PS.. Justin Hayward is my favorite singer. I've seen the him and the Moody Blues more than 20 times starting in 1973 at the Omni in Atlanta.

Hey Mike!~ Great show! sorry I missed it live. We have met a few times now. Last with Tommy E in Sellerville, PA I think??? I was surprised to see you at Tommy's show. You did tell me he had called you to come in for some shows. We first met at your first gig at the Iridium a few years back now!! You were so young and small then... LOL Kidding. I just want to say, after playing for nearly 50 years DUDE!, I completely changed my attitude towards the guitar from the first time I heard you play, "Boogie Shred". You showed me how you did that walk over routine. So I practiced and practiced. Remember, I grew up playing Pink Floyd, Led Zep and maybe some Beck style. You took it to the next level, actually, 4 or 5 levels. So, join the club, my friend. You should come by our studio in the Pocono Mountains for a bit of picking in the woods here. Or just to jam out in the walnut forest. Enjoy, stay safe, keep it going!~
