Mike. Thanks so much for the video. After your first video on the Vulcan 205 I rolled the dice and bought one. Couldn’t be happier. My father has been a welder at nuclear plants and a welder instructor for years. Always has used Lincoln and Hobart and miller at the fab shop he is at now. I told him about my 205 and he just kinda laughed. Then he came over and used the 205 and said Wow. !!! I can not believe how this machine performs. He kept thinking like most people it was from harbor freight and would be a joke. And to my disbelief….. said his next aluminum welder will be a Vulcan. Again he has used them all. I told him about your Chanel and showed your video. But seeing it wasn’t doing it for him. Using it. That proved it to him. Thanks for such a well done tutorial as always. He also likes my 170 titanium. But liked the Vulcan much better with all the functions like you mentioned 😊👍

I dig it. Great comparison and recommendations. What I really appreciate about your content is the no-BS, straight forward info that most of the common DIY garager’s want to know. Quick suggestion- I’ve worked in manufacturing maintenance for a long time and one of the biggest problems for most machinery is clean airflow. Over time dust and debris from shop use and the environment in general will build up and can cause issues. I use a high flow universal filter media on all my machines that have an open intake like the back of those welders. Just place a few strips of Velcro tape around the welder intakes and the filter media clings to it. Easy to maintain and replace and it keeps those internal components clean for a long life of use.

Mike, I bought the Hynade welder after watching one of your videos. My experience is no reflection on you. I just wanted you to know about my experience. I had my most experienced welder help get this welder tuned in, however it would not keep the high frequency on. It would start the torch but then go off and destroy the tungsten. Hynade eliminated their phone number and do not respond to emails. The 3 year warranty is not valid if you can not reach anybody. I’ll probably switched to the Vulcan for my home use. I owned a company with over 50 tig welding personnel so I have been around the process. I had all Miller dynasty welders and 95% was aluminum tig. I sold the business after 20 years and two locations. I do a lot of mig but never mastered tig. I do appreciate your videos. Thanks for all your videos.

I have a Titanium 200 multi process welder. Bought it about a year ago and so far everything has worked great. Although I haven’t tig welded with it yet, mainly because I haven’t needed to weld any aluminum. But I have used the hell out of the mig function and I can’t complain. Never had an issue with regulators or over heating etc… My only real complaint is mine didn’t come with a pedal. I haven’t really looked into getting one for it cause I wasn’t sure that it was an option until seeing this video. Oh, great video by the way! And thanks for the review.

I also own the Titanium unlimited 200 it been working great for over 3 years now. The TIG is a DC only TIG so aluminum is out for that machine unless you buy a spool gun. These welders are AC/DC welders and both are high frequency start.

Hey Mike, how about doing a comparison on the yeswelder ds250p ac/dc tag like you said you were going to do a couple months ago. It would also be nice to have your opinion on how well it really works and is it something you would buy again since you've had it for a while.

I've had the Vulcan 220 mig welder for about 5 years now. I bought it to fabricate my ornamental handrailing at home. I've ran maybe 100 lbs of wire thru it in that 5 yrs so it's used only occasionally but just built two entrance gates and it runs like it did the day I got it. Nice review Mike, I was wondering how those two welders stacked up against each other. I'm a welder and metal fabricator by trade, used the old Miller Dialarc for tig for years then the Syncrowave. Welding thin aluminum as in 35 to 80 thou the added adjustments are very handy and help do a better job. I know I'll be building some homebuilt aircraft fuel tanks in the future so I may look at getting the Vulcan over the Titanium. As for the size of the foot peddle... it's the same size as the one Miller has used for some 50 years now. I should know I've worn a couple of them out. Simple design means simple to fix. If you talked about duty cycle, I missed it. Like if you're welding 1/2" steel on max amps, how long can you weld a bead, and then how long does it have to cool down before you can weld again on each model, and at each input voltage?
@melgross2 жыл бұрын
Very good overview Mike. There are many different manufacturers and importers of welders. Many of which aren’t “real” companies, but guys importing the minimum number from a larger Chinese exporter. You find these on eBay, and sometimes Amazon. I tell people to stay away from them. Even if they work at first, there is absolutely no support. Harbor Freight makes good welders these days, at the price they sell them at, very competitive with other brands. They aren’t industrial quality, but neither is the price, and HF does generally have good support.

Hey Mike, a few years ago, I bought a Vulcan omnipro 220, because I thought I could do Tig/mig/stick with just one welder. I haven't gottent a Tig torch or pedal yet because upon more research, I found out it would not do aluminum. Then there are some who say it can do aluminum, but it's just more difficult due to AC/DC lack of being able to change. I also didn't want to buy a whole other tank pure argon, and different regulator if I wouldn't be able to Tig aluminum anyway. I really like how it mig welds, and I got to try stick welding with it, and it did well with that. Is there any point to getting a Tig torch and pedal for this? Or should I just get a purpose built Tig machine? I don't see much need for Tig other than occasional for what I do. Lower investment might be torch and pedal, but if it isn't going to work well, might be better to just use mig. What do you think?
@CarbonGlassMan3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. I've welded over the years in the body shop and at home with a mig but I've never used a tig. I need to do some frame rail repairs to my truck but I think the mig is probably better for that kind of work. A Lincoln Handy Mig isn't the best welder, and it has almost no adjustments for the settings, but it does alright for how I use it. It looks like the Titanium 200 tig will be better for my needs. Not sure if it's the best for doing tiny welds on gun parts though.

I cant wait to see how that new yes machine works. I'm likely going to pull the trigger on one in the next few months. Any estimate on when the YesWelder review might come out?

I like to have at least a few months running a machine before I do a review. I’ll try to get one out soon 👍

@@Mikefestiva I wouldn't want you to rush. My mig is getting me by just fine for now. Just curious

Do u need to hookup the pedal for the machine to weld or can you weld without it?
@ryanthomas2374 Жыл бұрын
in tig welding the pedal is necessary, in stick it is not.

If you torch has a trigger you don't need a pedal.

I have the Vulcan 220 and its a great machine but I need a ac/dc tig machine I do like the 205 but when you get to the 1200.00 range there are some options out there what welder would you recommend for a good ac/dc tig

Mike, love the video’s, they have been super helpful. I am currently in welding school, and am wondering how people get HF to send them these welders to test out for free? Obviously my funds are super tight.. I spend a ton of money at HF.. just wondering if there is a program people can sign up for?

Great video! You have never shared a video related to welding helmets. That I know of. Can you share your thoughts on the best for a reasonable price. I do not weld every day, so cannot justify buying an expensive helmet. Or do I even need too. Thx Mike “Live long and prosper”😂

Can you put a different ft pedal on the titanium? And does it have the option to weld without the foot pedal? I am also looking for a basic machine for using every couple months but would like the option to use the ft pedal when needed it to use the machine without .scratch / lift arc style . Great video

Mike. Do the make a rheostat adjustable thumb switch for the 205 instead of a foot switch
@reaperreaper50982 жыл бұрын
USA Weld sells two types of torch "switches," a slider and a wheel.

do you know if the titanium can be upgraded with a better foot pedal?
@goingbonzo59232 жыл бұрын
I wonder if you could modify the Titanium pedal to a lower profile? It seems possible with a cnc plasma table, Just a thought. Also do you think the harbor freight flow meter is a good purchase?

This might be a little off topic but can you make a mig lead longer? If so how do you go about doing it. I have the omnipro 220 and hate how short the mig gun lead is. And the ground clamp lead, i have a grip on extending the ground clamp lead but the mig gun i have no clue if its even possible, anyways back to the video, great as usual, ive been wondering how the new titanium tig was since it came out so was pretty excited when i saw this, thanks!!

I’m literally looking at getting the Titanium Tig since I have the titanium unlimited 200 and would like to get a unit just for tig so I can leave my Mig set and also get a damn foot peddle.

It works good, just plan on buying a $40 Argon flow meter on Amazon. All and all the auto set works great 👍 Thanks for checking out my new video 🙂
