This Fusion 360 tutorial series is for absolute beginners. This will be a multi part series that will cover everything you need to know about drawing 2D in Fusion 360. The overall goal of this series is to teach you the beginner how to draw parts in 2D so you can cut parts efficiently on your Langmuir systems Crossfire Pro CNC Plasma Table.
This video series starts off covering the tools used when measuring parts in the real world, tips, how to draw them out on paper and finally work flow through Fusion.
Part 2 will cover introduction to Fusion 360, understanding the tools and drawing your first part.
As this series evolves you will learn how to get around the program and draw efficiently, extrude parts, make tool paths, adjust cut speeds and pierce times, export your tool paths out to G code and finally on to Firecontrol, the software that comes with your Crossfire CNC plasma table. Finally we will cover cutting out your parts.
If you are patient and willing to take the time to learn, you will easily be able to follow along in this series and before you know it you will be drawing in Fusion 360!
Enjoy :)

First and foremost...... to the ten people that gave a thumbs down 👎 what is your issue.?? To me that is the most disrespectful thing you can do .... if you think you can explain it better .... DO TELL THE CLASS!! The rest of us appreciate Mike sharing info in a way we can understand and showing us what we have all wanted to know. He already went through the growing pains and is showing us the best way he can so we don’t have to struggle like he did. Mike . Thanks for the info. Rock on 🤘 and we are just as excited for the next Class session as we are the next build video. 👍😀

Thanks Rich I really appreciate it 🙂 I can’t recall ever clicking the thumbs down 👎 button on anyone’s videos on YT, if I don’t like there content I just move on. YT seems to have a strange thing going, it appears if you block someone who’s been really rude, they can’t comment anymore on your channel, but it seems they can still stay subscribed and rate your videos, I actually have some people that will thumbs down my videos within the first 2 minutes of them being posted. Over the past 6 years on YT I have blocked about 45 people, a number of those people still are on my channel thumbs downing my videos. All that aside I really appreciate your support Rich 👍 I have some really awesome people subscribed to my channel, 99% of them are positive and supportive! You guys and gals are truly what keep me making these videos. Thanks again for the support I really do appreciate it 😊

Right on! I think you will really like part 2 of this series coming out soon, we will cover drawing your first part and different tools used. I think it will definitely simplify Fusion so people won’t feel so overwhelmed. There’s a lot of things I don’t know in Fusion, but I feel I can show others what they need to work efficiently and draw up almost any part in 2D. Thanks Luke for checking out my videos and commenting 👍

Mike, just a suggestion here, if you extrude, then create another sketch and you the point command, then hole command, you can easily edit all the hole sizes at the same time. Say you cut it out and you want all of them a different size, you can edit the hole command and it will change all of the holes at once rather than having to edit each circle in your sketch. It is great that you are teaching this skill! I’m a drafting and design student, we have learned fusion 360, inventor, and autocad.

I can really relate to your comments about how complicated the KZbin videos normally are for Fusion 360. It took me a long time to get started with that software and it was only after one of the Fusion 360 experts published a 3-part series going back to the basics that I was able to get going. I followed his examples step by step. That really made a difference. I am sure that your series will do the same. Not many people ever talk about 2D modeling in Fusion 360. Cheers.

I am an average Joe with some decent tools, plasma cutter, tig welder, small mill and lathe. I've been toying with the idea of purchasing a CNC mill and started playing around with Fusion just to get a feel for it. I too searched for good tutorials on beginner Fusion. I couldn't find much that I understood. I know you are only covering 2D but hopefully starting there I can move on the 3D. I appreciate your channel and how much you do. Thanks Mike!

Mike... This is going to be SO useful and it's SO needed! Every single employee at AutoDesk and Langmuir should be letting these play in the background and liking them just to up the views and promote them. I think these will become some of your more watched videos over time. Make sure you put in lots of keywords (I'm not a content creator so I don't know how you do this) where ever you do that and the views will come. KZbin is first and foremost a tutorial channel so this should work for you.

Hey Mike I bought the same CNC plasma cutter you have partially because of your enthusiasm, and success. Hopefully you got the credit. I have been a CNC programmer / machinist for 40 years. I'm used to writing four axis code for CNC Mills out of my head, but have no experience with CNC plasma cutters. I'd like to learn Fusion 360 so I can plasma cut more free form shapes with out having to figure out all the complex, compounds, radius , arcs, etc.. I'm looking forward to more of your teaching videos. I just received the last pallet of parts for my machine, so all I have to do now is build it. Take care Bud
