This is one of my favorite hikes! There’s a lost hiker there rn. They’ve been searching for him over a week. This is 5/21/21

Yes ours too. Yeah that's bad about the hiker. I've been following updates.

A fantastic video, amazing footage! That area is so beautiful, was there the other day, but no where near that far out. It seems like pure wilderness for miles and miles, who knows what lives in that deep forest 🌳

Thanks. Yes, this place is an absolute magical area of endless beauty. We've been coming here for over 10 years and still feel like there's more to be explored. We have a lot of videos from Laurel Snow Pocket Wilderness on our KZbin page. Just search them out if you'd like to see them. Thanks for watching.

Y’all have a nice family, and spending time like y’all do is one of the best things that we can do in this life. I will definitely check out all the videos that y’all have created and share them with my friends and family. Keep up the good work, and the best to you and your family !

They should call it monkeys peak after seeing it zoom out. Tell me you don't see a monkey face. Last time I was on buzzard point I was 2

I was blown away by your video of Virgin Falls in April (shortly after I had hiked it for the first time), which was the first video of yours that I had seen, but now I have spent a lot of time watching many more of your videos. They are incredibly, stunningly beautiful. You are such an artist--nature is the canvas, the cameras and drones are the brushes, but your vision and how you put it together is so incredibly amazing. Although I have heard of and wanted to explore many of these places before (I live in Knoxville and have been to the Smokies more than to the Cumberland Plateau), now it is something I simply must do, and will do, soon. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into capturing and sharing the natural beauty in our backyard! I'm feeling blessed to live close to these places and being able to share your interpretations. Truly inspirational.

Awesome, awesome video! Some great footage taken here and it was great to see the rain scene near the end because the creek was looking mighty thirsty.

Thanks! This is my wife and I'd favorite overlook in Tennessee so it was fun I finally get to get some aerial shots of it. The big slanted rock you see at the beginning is where we were taking cover during the rain you see in the end.

I'm going there next week for a three day, two night, camping/photography trip. I can't wait! I think the Fall foliage will be brilliant. I have a question about Buzzard Point; Did the two of you actually cross over that chasm to the last outcrop via the fallen tree? It seems at one point that your wife is on that last section of rock and the only way I could see to make it across was via that fallen tree.
@mikeisi10 жыл бұрын
That sounds amazing! I'm very envious. I'm itching to go camping...haven't in two years. (That is two years ago we had our first child haha). But hopefully we'll get out there again soon. To answer your question; no in all the times we have been to buzzards we have never gotten to the final rock. This particular hike in this video was the first time we had ever seen the "tree bridge" but we didn't bother with it. Seemed a little risky for us (again, we have a two year old). The latter you see her crawling down too was also new. If you're curious to see one of the campsites, here is a video my wife put together back in 2011 of our camping trip we did there. 2011 Laurel Snow Pocket Wilderness Hiking

I completely understand. I have two children who are now grown and out on their own so I understand the demands and that these demands often mean some sacrifice of things we used to do with greater frequency but I'm sure you'll get out there again and enjoy it that much more. I am also aware of your wife's videos because I've watched them as well since the two of you venture to the same places which I love. I am not nearly the experienced hiker and camper as the two of you though. Next week will be my first time camping out for more than one night but my previous campouts helped to prepare me for the additional night. I think by adding an additional night that I can cover a lot more ground. The first time I camped there I went only to Laurel Falls. I hope to venture beyond there to Bryan overlook on day 1 then do the Snow Falls/Buzzard Point overlook on Day 2. I don't know if I will make it but we'll see.

+Brian Watts Thanks! We've filmed Buzzard Point a couple of times since this video. Our latest one was a camping trip up there where we got some great shots of the sunset and sunrise. Check it out if you've not. I've never been to Red River Gorge. Looks like a beautiful spot in KY. We've never done any hiking there, but would love to. Thanks for watching.

Aren't drones illegal in national parks?
@mikeisi10 жыл бұрын
that is my understanding, but not in state parks.
@samanthaspann74876 жыл бұрын
not a national park, unless things have changed in the last few years, private property owned by a paper mill. Too ruff terrain for them to harvest

I spoke to the old vet that closes the gate every night… he says no drones! No motorized vehicles of any kind either and no bikes on the trail… So yea, not allowed 🚫
