I mean I don’t blame people for criticizing his game. Give the same exact college career to someone with regular parents and he’s nowhere near getting drafted. It’s not blind criticism, people just won’t believe in him until he proves he can hang, because frankly, they shouldn’t.
@BruvahSulaimanАй бұрын
Jeremy Lin wasn't drafted, and he still holds records for his college team. Lin did way more in HS than Bronny as well. This was inevitable, though. It was always the case that if Bronny could work on his game and actually get decent, ppl would try to act like he wasn't bad in HS, College, Summer League, Preseason, and most of his G League games.
@finkelmanaАй бұрын
You are 100% correct.

@@BruvahSulaimanhe wasn’t bad in high school though, was literally projected top 10 then died… he should’ve stayed 2 years in college to recover but he’s always been a NBA prospect, I see a Jrue Holiday type of player with better playmaking and shooting when I look at Bronny.
@BruvahSulaimanАй бұрын
@is.that.Mazzi. You're spreading false information. He was average at best in HS. Not a real NBA prospect. The hype was only because of his name. He wasn't even the best or second best player on his HS team. He never won any state Championships or tournaments. He never put up impressive numbers. With no exaggeration at all, Doug Gottlieb and Jeremy Lin put up better HS numbers and won more in HS and both of them went on to put up better numbers in college compared to Bronny. Neither of them were even considered in the draft. Quincy Olivari put up better HS and college numbers and didn't get drafted. You add to that the fact that Bronny's listed height was a lie and he turned out to be smaller. You add to that the obvious fact that going into cardiac arrest would have ended even a good players chance at getting drafted. It did not make any basketball sense for him to be drafted. He was drafted to appease his dad. They even admitted this on ESPN while defending the pick. They said LeBron Sr earned this and the Lakers drafted him to keep LeBron motivated or engaged this season.
@WickedlyChillАй бұрын
Him getting drafted is a given, he’s one the goats spawn. Genetics and being taught by bron plays a MAJOR role. Think about those as valuable as a 7 ft. Especially since lebron is one of the most resilient players, but I still see what you mean. He’s more potential than current skill

Remember when Draymond scored 32 in Game 7 of the NBA finals? He led in scoring over all players in that game. That's LeBron, Curry, Klay, Love, and Kyrie. Was that a sign that Draymond had developed his offensive game and was going to be a great scorer moving forward? No. What it was, was the result of Cleveland's defensive strategy. Draymond was the smallest threat offensively so Cleveland focused on stopping the bigger threats and if Draymond could beat them, they were willing to live with that. What ended up happening? Cleveland won the game and Draymond never scored above 25 ever again in his career. The strategy worked. Who won this game that Bronny scored so high in? The other team looked at the scouting report and saw that Bronny was an awful shooter so they went under on screens and let him shoot. To everyone's surprise, he found a way to make the shots that night for the first time. Now he has to stay consistent with it until they start really playing D on him. Then we'll see what he'd look like in the NBA..

There was never any hate for Bronny. There was honesty in the face of a false narrative that he earned his way into the league. He was awful in the league, which was preceded by him being awful in college, which was preceded by him being average in HS. No matter what he does with his opportunity, he still had a worse HS and college career than Doug Gottlieb and many other hoopers who didn't get drafted. He could go on to be an all time great and it would not retroactively change the fact that he was handed a spot in the league in a way that has never happened before.
