So now that we have a few hours on the X9, Mike will try remember some of the little differences and options from the Fendt Ideal 9s and compare them with the X9 John Deere. Keep in mind these will grow as Mike gets more comfortable in the X9.
We then will do a mechanical difference between the two of them as well - at some point.

I agree with Mike. I just hired a small roof to be replaced. I went to look at the progress and the roofer was putting new drip edge over a rotten facia board and there was even a 2’ section missing. He said that wasn’t in the bid. I have had lots of work done and was flabbergasted. I had a farm house roof done by an Amish crew and I was never there to see them work, but when I did see it was perfect, no short cuts. I then hired them to do windows, insulation and siding the next summer. Again great results. I would think they sleep better at night based on how they do a job.

Mike, to make the unloading auger stop instantly just double click the button. One click, it will do it spiel to empty the auger (better way to do it as it brings less wear and tear), but double click will make it stop immediately.

I thoroughly enjoy these "good and bad" videos. Being non-biased makes it very educational compared to videos from people who are partial to a certain brand. Even though my father was a die-hard General Motors man, he always said the best built vehicle would be a combination of parts and accessories of all manufacturers

Agreed in my mind the best pickup would be if ford contributed the body/interior and suspension, dodge gave a Cummins engine and chevy gave their contract with Allison, sadly big auto manufacturers hate eachother so much the only way to get this done is do it yourself 😂

You are one of very few people in this world who has actually used all of this new/big equipment of all shapes, colors, and sizes; therefore you are one of few who can speak on the differences based on experience and not just what the specs say. Lots of people have run one or the other but the comparison is where you learn what's good or bad. If I was a manufacturer I would definitely be watching all of your videos. Good luck with the remainder of harvest, hopefully you get a steady drizzle for a month or two the day after you finish!

Actually Mike sounds as though he's pretty happy with the Deere, but like all manufactures, there will be things a customer doesn't like. Over this series of videos the one thing he's said that would make up my mind was the down time of the previous equipment. It will be interesting to see if these new Green equipment will stay up and running... I assumed these are all on lease with so many hours being run and road miles for an operation this large. My experience is with Heavy Equipment and Trucks, not farm only equipment, so I could be wrong. The CTS insisted on setting itself on fire in Beans (as did the other CTS that JD sent to help catch up) and the STS simply couldn’t cope with English conditions and destroyed itself. Mike, as far as unload clean out, if you need to stop the auger quickly in an emergency stop situation you can double tap the unload button while it’s unloading and that will stop the auger without clean out, now if you do that on a regular basis I guarantee you will shear pins, but if it’s mostly cleaned out and your cart operator takes off just double tab your unload button and your good to go👍

It doesn't matter which brand you have, lots and lots of farmers have issues with cracking rims on duals and blowouts on singles so it would only cause problems to have a bigger hopper. 😆 Tho my dad is a "boomer" and he said it should've come with 2ppl support crew to follow it around and do everything for you for that price - if was going to buy one. . As he bought his new Massey 760 with 30ft table for $30,000 and wheat was worth the same in the 70s as it is today. 🤷‍♂️.. What's wrong with that picture?

hi I just saw your video with the combine on fire and I was thinking if it wouldn't be a good idea to have a large water tank on one of the Traktor that runs with auger cart

You got robbed....our S series always has had sun shades in them. And the stereo sounds awesome, when not in Bluetooth. For some reason mine doesn't get very loud either when in Bluetooth. I haven't seen you film it this way yet but you do know the buddy seat lifts up so you can access the fridge from the top too right? Thank you for your honest and thorough review. That variable unload speed would be sweet. I agree with the auger length....machine sync helps but it is too tight.

You try turning your phone volume up? There may be a setting to limit Volume in the system options too. Some phones have a limiting option because the Government regulations on potential hearing Damage. 🙄

@@Len_M. Yeah, it works fine in all other vehicles. It has something to do with these new JD touchscreen radios. Same issue in the tractor. It's loud enough to hear it but when a good song comes on it's not loud enough to get into playing air drums. Older Bluetooth radios thumped with the premium sound system. (for a combine).

Mike you are 100% right... the new John deere sound system sucks... let me explain... the old style John deere sound system was good... up until 2020 when the new style came out (7r 8r 8rx 8rt) It could just be the stereo but I've noticed that I'm usually running the stereo around 20-25 just to hear it well... so your not going deaf lol

I know in the 780 you can flip the bottom of the buddy seat up and reach into the top of the fridge. Haven't looked at the x9 yet. Might be easier to grab that drink or buns lol.

You have screen sharing among combines for gps lines. Could you not have a system that would screen share with the grain carts showing how full each combine is and where they are and direction of travel. It should be possible, I think!

Hello Mike, why didn't you change the defaults before buying the John Deere X9? especially at the level of the ladder it is really not reassuring in the event of an accident or fire problem or you have to jump in emergency and you are stuck... at worst during the winter, make personal modifications. Thank you for the explanation I follow you from the beginning you started making videos on KZbin.

How about a Gleaner? Lighter, Simpler, large capacity grain tank, and quick unload. Bottom tank unload auger, may be an issue on auger length. You need dealer support of course. Gleaner deserves consideration.

I totally understand when you say it’s a 800.000 $ combine at this price it should has better sound system and installing a 110 volts inverter , or at least offer them in option in reasonable price , JD probably think it’s still 70 years old pappy who still farm and drive combine and listen to AM radio . I remember when I was 8 in 1976 the first time I driven a combine it was a BIZON I don’t remember the model the header was about 10-12 feets wide and the hoper is very small , I was going up to the end of the field and coming back and had to empty it because I wasn’t going to end of it , and I had to put all my weight on the clutch pedal ….
