As I watch this video on May 5th, I seen 2 farmers just starting to hook up their drills today in north central North Dakota. Everyone was getting ready to go seeding about a month ago, then we got a blizzard that dropped 3+ feet of heavy wet snow, fallowed by another 6 inches of freezing rain and snow about a week later. Just an observation that as I look across the landscape there isn't a broadleaf weed anywhere in sight which tells me that the ground is really cold. If the weeds don't grow nothing else will either as they can grow in much colder soil temperatures than grains and lentils to start germinating.

That's why we seed treat so that the seeds can sit in the ground until it warms up.
