Mike, my friend, If you'd take a couple of tons of added ballast off your tractor, add a set of duals on the front and rear, it would do much better in the soft ground, not sinking out of sight! Weight is not your friend! "Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌 👍 🇺🇲
@autobootpiloot4 ай бұрын
Weight gives more traction and it doesn’t really matter how much rubber you have (more rubber reduces compaction more than it gives traction). So most times weight is your friend. The one exception is soft soil where you would sink with weight. So yes, only in this scenario less weight would be preferable. In most other situations more weight would be better and also lots of rubber to prevent to much compaction.

As someone maybe in the market for a 930 Fendt, what is the maneuverability like compared to the 724?, I currently operate a Fendt 828 and am looking to move it on due to high hours. The 828 is a good machine for me because it is heavy and has tight turning capabilities, Fendt of course no longer make the 800's, the 700 series just aren't big enough due to GVM limitations for road use (even the gen 7 700's) and the 900's have impressive GVM's, I'm just concerned about their maneuverability for getting around tight areas that I can do in the 828 easily.

hey mike i have a question, was this tractor meant to pull this drill when you bought it? you said it has not much spare power when pulling the drill, why didnt you opt for a more powerful version of the 900 fendt?
@melvd34844 ай бұрын
In this case it was more a problem of traction than of engine power. So a Fendt 942 with 415 hP would have get stuck, too. Maybe with duals that would have not been happened.
@MartinAltenhofer-qj8zq4 ай бұрын
you are right in this conditions also a stronger tractor would get stuck. anyway later in the video mike says the fendt is close to its limits powerwise, thats the reason for my question.

In Europe, farmers attach a 930 to equipment 1/10 of this size... who is wrong ?
@szymciorolnik4 ай бұрын
But in Europe we pull our equipment much deeper in the ground or use more complicated machines so I think it's the same

Also in Europe crops yields are massively higher most years. European farming is intensive, Canadian farming is extensive. Both are suited to their environment.
