Big tip for all Galaxy Buds users with Galaxy phones: You can tweak the Buds behavior further using Bixby Routines. I set mine to disable touchpad, disable transparency mode while in KZbin, Netflix. Buds Live are the only ones I can wear for hours, without fatigue. Think they're more suited for listening to podcasts/talk radio, rather than music. So loss of bass, sound quality is something I can live with, depending on what media you consume. I have tried all of these. I started with the buds plus. They are so great and I loved them so much that I was excited to try the new ear buds. The live hurt my ears after about an hour of wear, but it did stay in my ear quite well. The buds pro sounded great but they absolutely will not stay in my ears and had to return them. They also put a lot of pressure in my ears. I was excited to try the buds 2. Great set of earbuds, but my right earbud tends to fall after a couple of hours and they require readjustment for fit quite often. They sound great though and I didn't notice much difference from the pro. So the search continues, but I don't think anything is better than the pluses. This is the comparison I wanted to see. Thank you. First, I think there was no difference on the microphones across the 4 earbuds. Got a pair of Buds 2 in the house recently and thought the sound wasn't better than the Buds + until loading the app on my Note. The sound on the Buds 2 is better with ANC on OR with Ambient on than with both off were they sound like the Buds+. I haven't usually used the Ambient feature on my Buds+ so I tried turning it on and off and different levels and having it on may have improved sound a little, but nothing like the difference on Buds 2. Even having Ambient on low made a big difference with Buds 2. Using either + or 2 with an iPhone is underwhelming with sound quality. $20 Apple earbuds in a headphone jack sound incredibly better. So I tried the same Apple earbuds with a C to 3.5 adapter in my Note - - also much better sound than either Buds. Bluetooth audio just isn't mature yet.
@djsky34932 жыл бұрын
I guess so but maybe look at it at a more realistic thing. Im not am expert but the reason i think why wired sounds better its because its coming from the main source (the phone) so they have more space to build something thar more about the noise ans stuff yk. while on bluetooth earbuds they hav to design everything in that small little thing. The processors, the speaker, the battery, censores, the wireless charger. so they cant just focus on one exact thing and maybe the reason the sound quality isnt how youd expect aswell is because of battery conservation. But again idk just my thoughts.
@gavinsnider42752 жыл бұрын
Very very late reply but the reason that they sound so much better, and probably the reason they sounded better when you used the app is because Samsung uses their own adaptive audio codec that can't be used on Apple devices. It changes the quality to keep the connection stable which works both ways, so lots of times the quality is actually improved

I got the Buds Live basically for free on a promo. Your assessment is spot-on, they're really comfortable, and the audio quality is determined by how well you can fit them in your ears. For the active noise cancellation, I recently used them on a plane and was a bit disappointed..UNTIL I played with the fit in my ears. Once I got it to "seal" properly, the difference was night and day. I toggled the ANC on and off to confirm and it was a major difference. It reduced the droning aeroplane noise from annoying-level to very-tolerable. That's my 2cents!

Little experience from me - because i had most of them - Galaxy Buds (non +) .. but they are the same : Fit well - and the passive noise cancelling (that is .. the tight fit) works just right. The pass through is acceptable but not good enough to even attempt an actual conversation. The pass through feature is sufficient for environmental awareness when walking/riding outside. The sound quality is OK ... nothing to write home about. They are better than your garbage "freebie" earphones in the box. - Galaxy Buds Live .. I actually loved them. They never fell out of my ears, even when running (i run a lot for workouts). Very comfortable - and a VERY good sound quality with clear highs and a pronounced but bass that does not drown everything else. Sound-wise .. one of the best i had. However, i am pretty sure this experience is very much down to the shape of the ear .. as they were a near perfect fit for me. The ANC was garbage though - and a total waste of battery to even turn it on. The best thing about the Live was that you could actually have a conversation with them in your ears. The worst thing about them is the reason i do not have them anymore ... the case magnet is too weak to keep the case shut (i have the case dangling from my keys) - and the earphones just lightly "lay" in the case. Long story short .. i bumped into something/someone, the case was opened and the buds fell out - and i never noticed. - So i consider them "too easy to loose" - also no other earphones have slipped through my fingers when pulling them out of the case that much and dropped to the floor. - Galaxy Buds Pro .. i currently use those. The ANC is - OK (?) .. i do not think it is as good as people try to make out. It is about as good as the AirBuds Pro (my partner has those). But neither of those comes even near the simple seal of an overear headphone (like the Sennheiser 400 or so) - the sound is good .. i do not feel it is better than the Live .. but it is a bit clearer with less pronounced bass; very good for vocals (like audiobooks) - then again, you do not need amazing sound when listening to audiobooks. The case is the same as the Live case - so opens up just as easily .. but the buds are a little more secure inside. For my ears - i just cannot find a good fit with the pro. They feel loose and insecure, the seal feels poor and i keep re-adjusting them all the time. Buds 2 .. never had them, so no idea My conclusion : the best ones for me had been the Live - strangely enough. Best fit, best sound .. sadly easiest to loose.

Embarrassed to say I own all of these except for the Buds 2 as I chose the Buds Pro with my Flip 3 using the bonus cash as opposed to the Buds 2. I would agree with everything you said about the 3 I have experience with. The Buds Live are great, they are the lowest profile ones (invisible to someone talking to me head on), powerful and with clear sound (slightly above Airpods Pro which I also use), and the fit security issue is immediately fixed if you replace the rectangular rubber pad by the round rubber pad that comes in the box, which is a bit larger and thus secures the device in your ear. I loved the very first Galaxy Buds. But unfortunately I lost one bud and so I had to buy something new and I went with the Buds Live right away once it released because I thought it had a unique design! The pros for me are that it fits very nicely, it's light, and has never fallen out of my ears or have never worried that they would. Now the cons are that pretty much anywhere you touch it will detect that you tapped it (kinda annoying if you were just trying to adjust it in your ear), and sometimes when I single tapped it registered as double tap or double registered as triple (didnt happen all the time but happened a lot, maybe mine is defective). I'm not too picky about sound quality and the other features, but if I never lost my ear bud I would probably prefer my original Galaxy Buds over Live. But I still love the Buds Live.

My main love for them is when I'm in bed watching a movie or just trying to use them to go to sleep. They're my favorite but I also do love the pros also.
@nathan1723 жыл бұрын
As a musician, the buds live fills in my very specific needs, the “useless noice cancellation” is actually very nice because it tunes out the noice of lower end noises and keep higher (more important) ones which make it very nice for playing music with it on because it tunes out disturbing noice while still clearly hearing the sounds of both the music you’re listening and playing, creating a sort of feeling that you’re really playing with the band you’re listening to. My ears fits perfectly for these buds, which means for me they have just a bit less bass than the buds plus and have no fit issues with it. I also like these buds in the context that I can have conversations really clearly without taking them off or turn on the tinny transparency modes, while still able to listen to my music with moderate amount of base in comparison to other open-ear earbuds like the airpods

I have/had buds +, buds live and buds pro. Obviously the buds pro are my favourite. The sound quality is insanely good. Way better than most competitors like the airpods pro. ANC is also really good maybe 10% worse than airpods pro. The buds + were very reliable but I don't think they have the best sound quality or anything. They are good if you just want wireless earphones to talk to people, listen to some casual music/podcasts. I personally love my buds live only for the comfort. All the things he said are completely true. The buds keep popping out even if I go on a walk. When I push them in it activates the touch panel, etc. But they are the most comfortable pair of TWS I've had so far.

I was very satisfied with the Buds+, but decided to give them to my friend. I decided to purchase the Buds Pro, and I have to say that the sound quality is very noticeably better. I’m using the buds live with an iPhone 11 and absolutely love them. The fit is good for me, feels very comfortable and I can wear them for hours without any problem. The bass is adequate for my liking and listening to music on these is pleasant too. The biggest advantage on these is the lack of any protrusion outside of the ear which is great. I got these on a sale at a USD equivalent of 108. However, accidental play/pause does happen sometimes when adjusting them.

Great review!. I personally only every owned the buds live so i can't compare them to other Samsung earbuds. But for me, i don't really have any issue with the buds live falling out of my ear. Since i owned them. I only had one time when the right ear buds fell and it was by me kinda hitting it by mistake when at the gym. Otherwise, i had runs and walks and weightlifting and no issue at all. When i bought them initially. It was hard to find which ear piece they provide that works better and it was definitely hard to get used to wearing them and not feeling like they will fall off (I guess people with different ear shapes may have the buds live falling from their ear) . For sound. I am not really a sound expert but for my non-pro ears. They sound alright. But i am not very particular about my music so i guess for some people, maybe they don't sound so good. They're really comfortable and I sometimes forget i am wearing them.

Great video Mike. Very comprehensive comparisons. It's interesting that the Galaxy Buds Live easily fall out of your ears. For me, they're really secure (I've gone jogging with them with no issue). So I guess it really is all about ear geometry. I can wear them for hours (Zoom calls, Audible books, KZbin music) as they're comfortable. Coworkers on Zoom calls say I sound just fine (so I guess the microphones are good). I know you haven't rated the Live buds the highest, but just to let you know I really enjoy the ones I have (got the white version as the dark ones were way too glossy). In future, I may look at the other Samsung bud so thanks very much for reviewing them all.

I upgraded from the buds + to the buds 2. The sounds quality is about the same, which is good because I really enjoyed how the buds + sounded. The ANC is a game changer with the 2s, especially when travelling. The transparency mode is SO much better and more natural sounding on the buds 2. On the buds + the transparency mode sounded really tinny and fake to me. Although the buds 2 have noticeably shorter battery life than the buds +, i found that the case battery lasted a lot longer, so unless you're listening for more than 5 hours straight, it shouldn't be a problem.

I used the Buds+ 7 hours daily for 6 months loved them but I always found the bass was very weak. The treble was fantastic and mids sound great. The fit was great those wing tips are nice and have no issues with them falling out. About 3 weeks ago I found the Buds Pro on sale for $60 off, so I decided to take the jump and see what the difference was. I have been them 7 hours a day for the last 3 weeks and I can say that without a doubt they are way better then the Buds+. The bass on them is amazing, even the treble is twice as good in my opinion. I love the voice detect feature such a great feature to have added. I also find the buds pro are more responsive to tap controls. If you ever find the pros on sale I would highly suggest spending the extra for them. If you can't afford the pros the Buds plus are great and certainly will make you happy.

My Galaxy Live are hands down the best. No question about it. Comfort, battery life, ease of use, simple clicks to skip song, repeat song, or go back to prior song...all simple clicks. After 2 years of continuous use of the first generation of Galaxy buds, I'm here looking for my next one. I don't have much experience with BT, case charged earphones, but I have no complaints at all, despite knowing that you could've been unfortunate in getting yourself a faulty 1st gen G B. Based of comments and this video, I think Plus will be my best suit, while looking for cost-benefit. Seriously though, I don't know if 2 years are "optimal", but these sons of a mother survived 4-5 hard hitting falls on concrete/asphalt, a LOT, A LOT of sweat in 1h30-2h trainings and in some instances, HEAVY RAIN. I don't know about the competitors, but I believe SamsungAKG are the best cost-benefit-withstandings of the elements in the market. If you read this far, my buds are refusing to recharge :(. For the sake of a neutral profile, which is what I want I enjoy the buds plus pretty well. I don't feel like bolstering the bass because it's fine as it is minus some occasions where the instrumentation gets iffy. If we're talking music that already has big or noticeable bass in it, normal mode is actually awesome for that. Something about dynamic mode is better but worse in a way and I think it's sort of the shift in tone where mids get darker-sounding. The mid range could generally be stronger with its own version of a woofer- if such a thing exists- because sometimes lead instruments swerve around each other and I can't tell if that's how I remember the song in question sounding. Vocals are handled pretty well, although because of that swerving around thing there are times where the fullness of every instrument's "voice" gets trampled over. Noticed this the most with dynamic mode, which is why I don't use it. Overall an improvement over the originals as far as tuning goes and I happen to enjoy them more than the Quietcomforts that I hoped would be perfect with there mid-centric approach- it's bad...the bass is worse on those and the cymbals often die during chorus phrases. Not to mention they're lousy in fit which makes them sound even worse 🤷♂️
