I have no complaint about how long the heart rate monitor takes to reveal a BPM. it has nothing to do with the processor speed, it's just measuring more effectively if it takes longer.

In fairness this is a great watch. It looks great and is very fast and powerful with no lag what so ever. It's just a pity wear os is the let down. I sold my Samsung galaxy watch active 2 to get this and I'm glad I did. This not only looks better I think it's faster and smoother. The secondary watch screen is great for saving battery. If this watch had a rotating screen it would be the bees knees. Tic health is pretty good . The watches interaction with your phone is great as well. It's a bit heavy but doesn't feel uncomfortable. The leather, silicone strap is really really nice and comfortable. The best watch strap IV had. IV had a few smart watches. The active 2,the fossil gen 5, apple watch 5, galaxy watch tic watch e2 and a few more. This is easily my favourite. Ok apple watch does more but this looks better. Honestly you won't go wrong with.this watch

I have the previous version of this same watch since April of 2019. Sad to see they use the same processor because you can definitely feel it is not adequate. Also, my watch battery is not holding its charge after 16 months. I usually put on the watch at about 8:30am, after 12 hours (8:30pm in the evening), the battery will drop to 25%. When it was new, it would have at least 50% of charge remaining. I reported the battery problem with Mobvoi and all they can offer is 25% off the next watch.

I've got the original "Pro". Overall, I'm very happy with it. The lag usually occurs when you first power it on but goes away in about 5 minutes. Essential mode is fabulous. I was hoping the 2020 version was going speed it up considerably, but I see it hasn't much. I'll wait for the next version.

Nice! I figured people who had this (or the previous version) would like it. This is a bit faster due to the RAM, but I don't think it constitutes a replacement if you have the older Pro. I am hopeful that 2020 will bring some very impressive new watches!

I have the original too. At times, it gets so bogged down, all screens turn off and it can be 10-20 seconds to come back. BTW, the "slower processor" is the only one available for Wear OS. The 3100 processor is the same speed but has a co-processor for health monitoring. Wear OS desperately needs a new chip. The GPS is indeed 10% off all the time...under reports distance all the time. On a 10K run that's a whole K off! Finally, the screen needs some work...the top layer is way too reflective and makes the OLED very hard to see, which is also not bright enough. If you turn it up to 3 or 4 brightness, it's good inside but too dim outside. I also have a Galaxy Watch, which is much faster and much brighter...you can set a manual brightness but still have the auto brightness adjust when you go outside. The battery on the two is almost identical but the Galaxy screen is way brighter. The Ticwatch charges much faster though. I still wear both but the disadvantages of the Ticwatch become more apparent in comparison. For the price they charge, they should absolutely have upped storage to 8 GB like Fossil and included the 3100 processor instead of the 2100. No excuse for that...

They went with the snapdragon 2100 over the 3100 because the 3100 is just a 2100 with an additional co-processor. That co-processor actually wasn't utilized by any watches with it until the Suunto 7. There is no performance difference between the two of them. Wear really needs a really new SoC.

2018 version was lagging a lot. I came back to my Gear S3. Sure, it doesn't have such a long battery life but it's still not bad comparing to many other smartwatches. Also, S3 doesn't support Google Pay. But UI fluidity and smaller form factor of Gear S3 is apparently more important for me. BTW, great review! Subbed :)

At least this is Google and I 'think' there are more useful apps for it. It looks similar to the Galaxy Watch, smaller overall size yet has a slightly larger screen and better resolution - sold, lol. Decent review however comparing a 2100 to 3100 and using 'speed' as the basis has been debunked many times. They both clock in at 1.2Ghz and the real differences between those chips is power consumption. The 3100 does have a co-processor but other tests haven't shown much measurable improvement in the speed as a result.

I got a Ticwatch Pro 2020 a few weeks back and noticed something odd on the screen yesterday. I thought it was a scratch but upon closer inspection it actually appears to be under the glass. Kinda looks like an m with a forward slash; "M/". You can see it better when on the LCD screen but you can see it on both screens if you move the watch and let the sun hit it just right. If you were on the LCD screen it would be just above the furthest right of the 5 bars in the battery indicator. Since I noticed it I've convinced myself that the screen in general hasn't looked as sharp but I'm not sure if this is just me being paranoid or not. Do you have any idea what it could be? Can you see it on your watch too? Far as battery life is concerned, I think it's awful. Keep seeing reviews saying that you can get 5 days with the combined screen mode, but I can barely hit 2 days. I'm a really light user too. Always on screen is off, no continuous heart or sleep monitoring and I haven't been using any if the fitness apps. Also have ok Google detection, location and WiFi off and screen brightness at only 3. I've basically been using it as, well, a watch. I turn the oled on from time to time just to look at the screen and use the stopwatch occasionally but other than that I haven't been using it much so I really can't understand why the battery life is so crap. Their website suggests that you charge to 100% and completely drain to zero 2 or 3 times and that should sort the battery, but I can't even do that as despite being set In the menu to never come on automatically, "essential mode" keeps coming on once it gets to 1% and I don't want to sit around for up to 30 days waiting for the LCD screen to drain that final 1%. Should I be concerned? Honestly starting to wish I had gone with the Galaxy watch instead; especially if I'm not imagining that the screen isn't as sharp as it was initially. I'd be very greatful to hear your thoughts please.

They went with the snapdragon 2100 over the 3100 because the 3100 is just a 2100 with an additional co-processor. That co-processor actually wasn't utilized by any watches with it until the Suunto 7. There is no performance difference between the two of them. Wear really needs a really new SoC. The only thing that makes the old one slower than the fossil was the double ram in the fossil. With the 2020 they perform the same, except with better battery life out of the Tic. I have both of them and prefer the Tic for battery and the fossil for style.

the manual navigation using swipe and tap is my biggest problem with this watch because when you run your fingers get sweaty and you can't do anything on your watch. If it had a rotating crown or a rotating bezel it would be easier to navigate when your fingers are sweaty running in 95-degree weather

@@randyb3576 I have to disagree with that. Even with 1 GB, it still eventually fills the RAM and gets sluggish running Google Play or anything needing some power. The Galaxy Watch never slows down, so must have better memory management.
@randyb3576

Dale Huhtala My gen 5 is not sluggish at all. Matter of fact, even my older Wear watches with smaller ram consistently beats my Gear S3 using voice commands. The words appear when spoken,whereas the S3 lags and words will not appear until finished speaking. Otherwise both watches’ responses are about the same imo.

I bought the 2019 version and is rubbish. I took it apart as it stopped working completely. I was shocked at how basic the internal components are. Not at all premium in my view. I'll never buy one of these again. I have a 120 year old watch that cost about the same and guess what, it still works.

Dont trust these reviews too much, i bought my previous version Ticwatch Pro based on these reviews as they all praised it, but none of them mentioned that the watch becomes laggy quite soon, and in reality... it bacomes unusable after just a few days.... as every time i started to to do anything on the watch i always had to wait 5 sec fot it to react, is really annoying, a restart helped a bit but not for too long and you can not keep restarting your watch 5-10 times a day. I did factory reset as well many times but it remained way too laggy and unusable.
