You didn't mention the only big problem; when we try to pay for the game with a credit card, a message shows that the credit card must be issued in the same country as the eStore. Your method doesn't really work.

It's not just games this also works for DLC and apps like NICO NICO ( Japanese equivalent of KZbin.) This works on ALL Switch versions, OG 2017 Model, 2019 model, Lite and OLED.

This is great for getting games on sale only in specific regions or playing new games a day early depending on what region u make the account (also depends on what region u live)

You might need to use an international credit card or buy a foreign Nintendo eShop card.

I have a question about this. I found a redeem code for a game at a reduced price but it is only for US. Can I change my account region or create a US region to redeem the code? Or is it necessary to use a VPN for that? There is a disclaimer in the shop that warns I can't redeem the code outside of the US. Many thanks in advance!

NO VPN Needed, You just need to create a US My Nintendo account so you can access the US eShop.
