Good ideas, Mike. We don't hang much artwork on the frig now that our grandkids have gotten into high school. I mat and frame some of them. But I could certainly use these in the shop where I put notes, etc. on my bandsaw for reference. This is a great use for those leftover pieces that usually end up in my fire pit bucket.

Mike, I love how you verbalize the positioning and correct use of your tools. It's been helpful to me in my turning.

Great idea Mike. I've been trying to get my grandson interested. We tried a bottle stopper, and he did ok, but these are a better beginning piece.

Hi, Mike. Good video! I particularly liked the closeup shots on the first piece.
@MikePeaceWoodturning7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Rick. I probably need to include a few more of those kind of closeup shots as they do tend to demand attention.

Mike try a Forstner bit (excuse the spelling). They leave a perfectly level bottom in their holes. God Bless my friend.

you could use a lot of these techniques for making drawer knobs

Or I could use a lot of my knob techniques on these magnets, LOL. I did a couple of videos on turning knobs a while back. ; )

Some good ideas. Are you using a Powermatic lathe?
@MikePeaceWoodturning7 жыл бұрын
Yes, 3520b I have had for 10 years. Got it after turning on a Jet mini for six months when I first started turning.

Mike Peace Woodturning I'm thinking of upgrading from my jet 1221. Just waiting for it to on sale.
@MikePeaceWoodturning7 жыл бұрын
That 1221 seems like a sturdy lathe, much beefier than my old Jet 1014.

Ron Radliff reports, " Home Depot also carries those little round RE magnets. They're in the fastener aisle near the nuts, bolts, and screws." Costs a bit more than my eBay order from China but sure is convenient if you are in a hurry.

My refrigerator is similar, sorta except that it's adorned by about 200 of those plastic alphabet letters. Not worth a hoot for holding up a piece of paper or artwork. I love the idea of using rare earth magnets. Also, you showed a tool with a adjustable brass plumbing fitting of some sort. Is that a stock fitting, or did you modify it to pull that trick off. I was just thinking about needing something like this no more than 15 minutes before watching this video!
