Allan Wright Your videos on gaming took me back to my military days where we did command and staff training using some pretty sophisticated computer assisted board gaming.

Mike Peace Small world! I don't have a military background, but was introduced to the hobby by my Uncle who served during the Vietnam era. Wood turning is of course a distraction to my Wargaming hobby, but a welcome new change. I took some furniture design courses in college, but always loved the turning the most, so that's why I've just turned my shop into a turning shop as best I can.

Allan Wright Actually my wargaming blog features my new lathe: ajs-wargaming.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-new-distraction.html Not a bad machine for a beginner to start on. It came with a chuck and a dozen Sorby HSS chisels.

Thanks for sharing Mike. Very useful information. I like the "Almost sharp, it will almost cut" line. It's easy to remember.

Hello M. Mike. Thanks for the video; it is appreciated. Funny thing is that in my "coming soon" video I broke a piece because I was not sharp enough; had more vibrations than cuts and "voilà"... end up with 2 pieces of wood. Thanks again for sharing. Marc

Hey Mike, I was amazed by that toothpick holder you had on, a while back. I milled a bunch of blanks and wanted to revisit the making of the toothpick holder, and I can't locate it. Can you help me out?Tnanks,Tommy

It's ironic that this video popped up for me today. Last night I snapped my tool rest with a bad catch. I will ride the bevel. I will ride the bevel. I will ride the bevel. 😂

Mike Peace Woodturning No thankfully not but it gave me quite a surprise! I bought a replacement tool rest and was much more careful this evening.
