Lots of comments about why I didn’t use my vacuum chamber and the reason why I didn’t use it this time is because I was worried about the resin starting to cure before getting it into the fridge. Jim

I definitely love hearing your thought process. It lifts your video up from "look at this cool thing I made", to "look at this cool thing I made, and this is why it looks like this". Every piece of wood is different, and you never know exactly what it's like or how it's going to behave until you start turning, so you explaining what you're doing and why is a revelation, and all part of it.

I know I’m seeing this 3 months later and you may never see my comment, but I love that you think out loud. I have a creative side but I’ve always struggled with coming up with ideas. I can improve on an idea or take something and change it up to make it my own but to just see something in my head that I can put down on paper, I just can’t do. Listening to you as you tell us about how you want to start and then your process of deciding what you want it to be, is so interesting to watch. This piece is absolutely beautiful 🤩!!! You are very gifted!❤❤❤❤❤

"IMO, I would not want to speak for Jim…;but to you Judy, " Kudos by the way on your comment" but I think what you're interpreting as Dislike, for Jim I think it is more just disappointment in that the wood's natural aging process has caused soft spots that are more complicated, and time-consuming, to repair… Just IMO."

I am glad you did not put in that spacer. I absolutely love this effect. It is one of my favorites by far, and It’s even more rare. I can’t get over how beautiful it is. The bubbles really do add and helping it look like it’s a cave in the ocean. I love it when you think out loud. I love to see how you work everything out. It makes me feel more a part of what you’re doing. And heaven knows I will never do this by myself, so I love being a part of it.

I don’t woodturn. I don’t plan on ever learning to woodturn. Woodturning is not a skill I plan on adding to my skillset. But I love watching and listening to your thought process. I draw and paint. Hearing other artists and crafters from different industries go through their creative processes help me get a grip on my own passion and desires and be more realistic about what I want to create and how I want to create it. Even terms you use that have NOTHING to do with drawing and painting gives me an idea of what you’re going for so that I can better understand your direction. You’re not just helping woodturners! Ahhhh! This is absolutely GORGEOUS! I love how you orientated the wood piece so that the windows are in the position that they are. Definitely one of my favorite pieces! Also, to echo others here, I love hearing your thought process. As an artist myself, I learn from other artists; and watching and hearing about the creative and technical processes are vital! I know that a couple of other makers here on KZbin have made second "ASMR" type channels where there's no talking, and just the shop noises and whatnot. Some people do prefer that, but I think most people enjoy hearing you talk about what's going on. Anyway, keep up the great work! Designer Epoxy

I'm floored! This very unique vase is the most stunning piece I have ever seen!!! The flaws in the ocean part....don't worry about them. The ocean is organic, living and as such "ebbs and flows". The appearance changes minute by minute, second by second. Think of it as catching the ocean in one precious moment in it's ever moving and changing dance. Brilliant work!

from one maker to another (full time potter but not yootoober), if it helps you to verbalise what's in your head, then definitely do it. I am curious about your timing with the pressure pot. After a couple days in the refrigerator, the resin should have thickened quite a bit.. It seems like the pressure wouldn’t do much good at that point? Or am I wrong?
