I’d say that a pretty good product. Definatley out of the way so as to not impede certain projects. Your reviews are pretty solid Mike. Appreciate that.

This is something I’m going to have to address in the near future. I started wood turning about 2 years now. I bought the smaller (10x18) harbor freight, thinking that if I ended up being terrible at it, or a danger to myself and others, I wouldn’t be out much money. Needless to say, I’ve truly enjoyed learning how to make different projects at different difficulty (hat tip to you Mike). I’m now in the market for a larger machine. As I’m looking around in my garage, seeing that it looks like a flour mill, some sort of dust collection system is really needed. I’ve tried the shop vac method which is typically better than what I usually do. (Respirator, and try to see through the dust cloud). I’ve watched many videos on homemade dust collector stands, and I’ll say seeing how well the one you demonstrated, I’m going to save myself the headache of trying to fabricate something and look into this I know you (Mike) have used harbor freight tools in the past to some extent. Do you know much about harbor freights dust collection system?

Interesting solution and definitely worthy of consideration. Will certainly be looking at this as I plan to upgrade my turning shop dust collection. Thanks for posting

I’ve had one of these for a year and very happy with it. You can always tell a good purchase when you forget it’s even there. Just does its job and does it well. Thanks for the video Mike.

I've had one these for over a year. Beats my cobbled up attempts prior. My olde hands would appreciate we bit larger diameter knobs. Maybe 5 or 6 sided, and roughed for easier gripping, however. I've wrapped mine with wide athletic cotten coated tape. Would add some cost, but worth the effort in my view. Thx Ken Rizza and engineers for innovating.

I have one of these systems on each of my lathes (PM3520C and PM2014) ... by far the best dust collection solution I have come across. The goosenecks were pretty stiff at first, but loosed up a bit over time and still stay where I put them.

I have an American Beauty and Oneida Supercell dust collection system. When I tried putting the TracVac collector hood on my lathe it did not fit well. My garage shop has rafters fit with 4" hoses so the floor clearance is unimpeded. I need to move behind my lathe so again no stands to get in the way. My solution was to mount the collector to rafter mounted chains and suspend it behind the lathe. Doesn't interfere with my Robust light bar, lathe bed is clear, and it swings away from the lathe until the collector is readjusted. Only nuisance is adjusting the height, means putting the bar on another link of my 4 suspension chains. After sucking up sandpaper, etc Itook 1/2" wire mesh from a bird suet feeder and mounted it on the WOW hood.

Using the mineral oil and beeswax mixture did not allow us to see how the unit actually works. Please try it again using only raw sandpaper. Thanks.

I think it’s focusing more on how well the maneuverability is of the holder. The dust collection is just his typical dust collection system.

That's a pretty cool solution Mike, certainly better than the awkward stand I'm currently using! Do you know if it available in the UK? Thanks
