good idea to get rid of dust. It may need to be developed a little more. Thanks for sharing the details.

The fine dust from sanding on the lathe has been a big problem. I have tried many different set ups and failed every time. So finally after 6 years of frustration I made one of your set ups. I used electrical conduit and made the adjustable slide from maple. THe monitor attached to the big gulps....welll bye bye dust! I am so pleased. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

Great idea! I have mine attached to a portable roller stand sitting behind my lathe and it is constantly interfering with the movement of my banjo. I shall be following your example here. Thanks once again for sharing.

Per some requests, I designed and created a custom sliding dust rid. I hope you like the jig and if you have any questions, just let me know. Also, dust hoods, are no substitute for also wearing a dust mask. In addition to dust collection you should always wear a good quality dust mask for protection. Thank you!
Hi Speros, do you have any items you can recommend for the top half of the rig? I have the wood board with the TV arm/dust hood mounted below. But I can't find anything like you used for the top half. Thank you!

Hi. You can use metal bars and drill holes, along with copper pipe and electrical boxes. I used what I had laying around. You could use pvc as well. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

It's great to be praised for a brilliant build but lets see results before calling you briliant my guess is mostly a waste of time 90 % of dust is forced in front of the lathe and falls on the floor so I guess it was brilliant if your satisfied with 10% removal of chips or( dust if you will ) im sure it did well cleaning the banjo thanks

I’ve been using this dust hood for years off the arm and on, it works wonders. Is anything 100%, effective, no, does it help, absolutely. I’m not sure where your getting your dust collection information, but since I know from hands on, it works. Watch my other videos, even from years ago. The bags of fine dust that I empty from my dust hood is impressive. Chips fall on the floor, harmful dust can float then settle. If your so confidant that these don’t work then why are you watching these free dust videos? Also, I’m pretty sure I ever called myself brilliant.
