We have Boz in Pittsburgh who we think has been equally as talented as Justin. We also went thru the same problem with him, sometimes kickers just go into slumps and it fucks with their head. Some get out of it, some regress into inconsistent kickers. I don’t think Justin is the latter. Give him time he should be able to pull himself out of it. He’s saved that team too many times for them to turn their back on him. I think Justin still has game left in him.

Sometimes kickers have a bad season but it's just like any other position where a player underperforms but can absolutely bounce back. 34 is far from old for a kicker. I remember when Robbie Gold had a bad season after being great for years but was cut and then picked up the following year and was back to being great for years for another franchise and team that cut him struggled with subpar kicking for seasons before Finding a good kicker again.

As a clear HOFer, I dont think even if Tucker keeps sucking they can just cut him. I would handle it this way: there is what 6 games left. Tell Tucker to start focusing on retiring after this season and if he misses more than 2 kicks the rest of the season they wont cut him but will sign a new kicker to start for the Playoffs. The reason is if they win a superbowl i and probably the Ravens would want him to be the on roster to get a ring for his sendoff as a all time great for the Ravens. Then if he refuses to retire after this season, then I would cut him and let him pursue a season with a team that signs him and if he bounces back then good for him.

I remember in the Ravens Steelers game just a few weeks ago Tucker was complaining and blamed the Steelers filed for his kicking woes there BUT Boz was a perfect 6/6 making 3 of them from 50+ yds. I don't get his complaint. So far this year Boz is the best kicker in recent Steelers' history. Tucker was the modern day Mike Vanderjagt because during Vanderjagt's heyday with the Colts he was the most accurate kicker during that time period. I can understand where Harbaugh is coming from with his kicker situation him being a former Special teams coordinator so he has probably dealt or heard of situations where teams switched kickers multiple times during a season so he knows that it would be a very bad idea to go off of Tucker because it could get a lot worse than better.

Mosely made 23 straight FGs and set an NFL record but he suffered a slump in 1983 culminating in his 1 for 5 performance in the NFC title game vs the Niners. A 21-0 Redskin lead turned into a 21 all tie in an 8 minute span in what I consider Joe Montanas finest game despite the eventual loss. He didn’t have Dwight Clark that day and no running game to speak of. Four missed FGs and a kickoff return for a TD called back for a controversial forward cross field lateral kept the game in Montanas reach. I played soccer for years and football for years. You have to have the same mentality, endurance, strength, accuracy and understanding how to kick a ball. Rather if it’s a circle shaped ball or an oval shaped ball. I want to go back to what you said about Gary Anderson being perfect all year and missing that FG that would’ve put the Vikings up 10 pts in the NFC title game. 2:11 to play. Still the Vikes had a 7 point lead. The defense couldn’t hold the lead. So we go to OT where arguably the greatest offensive team ever to that point has 3 possessions that go nowhere. Finally Atlanta gets into range and ends it. Gary Anderson had one flawed moment in a season for the ages and to me the shame of it was the fact that his teammates couldn’t or wouldn’t step it up when it mattered. Anderson did not lose that game, he’s just a scapegoat for the guys who actually lost it

Actually...it is that simple....the holder not holding the ball straight if you look at the replays. The old holder accounted for Tucker's technique and adjusted to his motion. On the Chiefs, Butker is good but when his holder left, his numbers went down too like Tuck.
