It seems like he was calling Brock Purdy a game manager because he's far and away not the best player on that team (which is true unless you're delusional). You can make cases for Brady and Peyton being hands down the most valuable players on their respective teams. I feel like people think Cam is saying pocket passers are game managers, but I don't think that's what he was saying at all. In the super bowl we saw Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones change the game (game changers), but it didn't seem like Purdy could will things on his own. I think he's talking from experience. If you go back to 2015, the panthers had to have had one of the worst super bowl rosters ever. Ted Ginn was the star receiver, and yet Cam's rushing ability made them one of the most unpredictable offenses in football. You can't say the same for Purdy. He processes quickly for his age, but he doesn't do anything outside of that that elevates the offense. Historically, Purdy has one of the greatest supporting casts ever. We've seen the 49ers recently in the super bowl with or without Brock Purdy. He's just not a game changer, but he manages it really well.

I think at the core of his heart Cam wants to be a good guy, loved and respected. Unfortunately when he should have learned how to be wonderful to his core, he was having posses blowing smoke up his skirt that he could do no wrong.
