Oh Dear once again I have to agree with Mike what really gets to me is the fact that perfectly millable trees will never be cut and sold and that means that that land will never return anything to our economy. I think that if this policy was forwarded by the Green Party they should be ashamed of themselves. If they were planting native trees on this land I might have had little problem. I would have not expected in my lifetime to see that land return an income. We cannot afford this hopeless scam to continued.

The ets and carbon credit farming model, is setup so that pine trees provide a return on investment from around year 5-25yo. The carbon sequestration is then deemed to have reached near maximum. Trees with good access and location will then likely be milled. Replanting is required within 2-3 years to avoid a carbon credit bill.

The "carbon" trading market is a fabulous scheme to extract money from the general population and funnel it to well connected already wealthy individuals with I'm sure generous benefits to those that facilitate it. It's worth remembering that life on Earth is carbon based and plant life evolved in much higher levels of atmospheric CO2. Commercial greenhouses will set levels of 1000ppm CO2 to increase growth and humans happily work at that level with no ill effects and no health risks.

Thank you Mr Hosking yes the carbon market is a scam. How about these people sellers who have a property with trees on it. They collect the carbon offset credits. Then try and sell the property on for a sum way over what its worth given the buyer is now left to pay the difference back to the Carbon e scam because the trees are gone and thus not offsetting anything.
