I have been unreasonably excited about this car since Victor told me about it. Nissan skipped 2015 for this model and took the time to completely revamp their flagship 4DSC. It has technology borrowed from the GTR like sodium-filled valves and a shorter and wider intake tubes which attributes to it's 300hp while achieving 25mpg combined fuel economy! Nissan will conduct its third Altima recall in three years next month, all of which will have addressed the same issue: faulty hood latches. Worldwide, nearly 930,000 2013 through 2015 Altimas, including 846,000 that were made and sold in the U.S., will be affected by the recall. Nissan dealers will replace the latches, which tend to rust once their protective coats of paint chip off, free of charge.

I love the new Maxima. I just think the hype for this car will quickly die down just like the new Mustang. The price point is a bit of a killer for what the car is and what it's competitors are. Interior quality is very nice but people are complaining about the plastic that's an imitation of real aluminum. Reason being is because Nissan uses 100% real materials in the Infiniti models which in my opinion is more worth $40,000. Majority of people are going to shoot for the base model but even then what's the point? Don't buy it. This new Maxima looks it's best in the top trim levels, if you're aiming for a base I suggest looking else where.

NICE! But Nissan could have gained more trunk space if they used scissor hinges instead of the old type goose neck. My 04 Maxima has them. They make more sense. Why did Nissan go the goose neck route?

Only things I hate about this car is the front chrome bits, front design and the rear c pillar. The way the rear c pillar is set up reminds me of the GT Bmw's design which I despise with a passion. The interior is beautiful.

300 hp, awesome looks, Love everything about the car....well everything but the CVT. It speaks for its self when nissan had to "redo" the 1st gen CVT after only 3 years. Im a nissan fan for life, but Ill keep my 280 hp EXL Accord Coupe with a 6 speed. Please get away from CVT Nissan.

Nissan was doing great until... CVT. What's the point of doing a survey if they are not going to listen. I was part of the 2012 survey for this 2016 model when I visited their headquarters. The results for a CVT vs. traditional transmission was 87% in favor of the traditional. Even now, the public demands traditional. Look at what's happening to Subaru's sales with the WRX, they are not as well as they had hoped. Their executives blame the CVT and no wagon. I know there are good things with a CVT, plus not everyone is a car person like me. But most people just don't like the feel of a CVT. Good review though. Thanks.

A little disappointed. Have had 6 different Maximas. Was hoping for an all wheel drive version. Hyundai Genesis now offers an AWD model. Still need mid grade gas whereas the Genesis can use regular unleaded. The fake metal on the interior is a little off putting.

I have owned this car since 2015 when it first came out in Coulis Red with Cashmere interior, what a sharp car. It is a real eye catcher, I would not own anything but a Nissan. Great job on the review. The D shaped steering wheel, is actually know as flat bottom steering wheel. Usually found on high end sports cars. Also when reviewing the trunk the measurements would be a nice touch. Other than that great review.

I will say that I am biased toward Nissan vehicles, specifically the Maxima, because I have owned two and I will be buying this one in its second model year (OCD :-)) I will say that this car is definitely aesthetically pleasing, artistically crafted, and a powerhouse under its engine. This is nothing like a Sonata or even a Cadenza for those who mentioned that. It's a cut above the rest. The interior is amazing! I wish they had the Platinum version or the SR version with the camel interior you could have reviewed! I love how you covered things that were common in vehicles and things that were uncommon and the length of time you covered things. Lastly, you spoke in layman's terms without trying to use all the jargon and marketing terms! Great job and I will definitely subscribe!

I just sat in one of these, very nice. I love how the leather and stitching covers almost every surface whereas in the last-gen model there was a lot of soft touch plastic. Glad that's gone. Very nice looking cockpit but it was black without diamond stitching. I want to sit in one with a tan interior and diamond stitching, that'll probably blow me away. Only criticism? The metalwork is fake. It's plastic made to look like real metal. That's a bit odd, they give it an almost full leather interior (not even the Q50 has that) but can't even use real aluminum? That's my only pet peeve about the interior though.

Mike.......Thanks for the video. This is a great Nissan Maxima. Bought mine from Grand Strand last Wednesday. Today is Saturday. It has been from North Myrtle Beach to Beaufort, then to Columbia, then Aiken, then Barnwell, and now back to NMB today (Saturday). To many great things to say about it. One word of caution. Do not pull up to close to the parking "concrete bumpers", sidewalks, or anything similar. The 2016 Maxima sits an inch closer to the ground. So stay back a little more than you normally would with some of the earlier model Maximas. This is my 4th Maxima so I am looking for about 10 years of use before turning this one over to my daughter. Just gave my son my 2005 with 171,000 miles. He had 343,000+ miles on his '95 Maxima. It would not die. And they won't if they are pm'd with oil changes and basics pm(s). He placed the '95 up for sale, had 7-8 calls, sold it the next day for 1500.

This maxima is a great car ! The CVT is fine ... It's like the cool thing to say CVT sux when no one ever gives a legitimate reason why ? Lol ... If u wanna " feel gears shift " buy a fucking race car !!! .. The only legitamate knock is it not being all wheel drive ... But for the money your paying that's fine ... The q50 with awd starts at 39,000 and this starts at 32,000...

I must admit that I was never a fan of the Maxima series, but this new 2016 model really changes things because it's a quantum leap and very impressive! I was waiting for info on the number of airbags, because that's an important aspect, but no biggie, I'll look up the information sheet for it.

Lost me when when he mentioned the CVT. I have a 2010 model with the CVT - don't like them at all. I also notice the key fob has barely changed in 7 or 8 years. I have always found that the alarm button at the base always activates the car horn if it accidentally touches other keys or coins in your pocket. Extremely annoying and it amazes me they haven't corrected that issue.

You did a pretty good job on your review if I must say, one of the first 45 minutes I've watched all the way through. I believe you did forget to go over the left driver side controls on the panel. I remember catching a glimpse of the heated steering wheel, but not hearing it. I just chalked it up to you being excited.
