Having owned both an Elantra 2016 and currently a Sonata 2017, I have to say I like the Sonata much better. This car is so smooth and has such a premium feel. The elantra was fun to drive and super economical. I just wanted a bigger and more comfy car. Sonata certainly met all my requirements.

I am 5'9" and my bf is 6'1". I reallllllly wanted an Elentra due to it being more wallet friendly and compact. After sitting in one at the dealer, it did feel small and too light. With our seats in a comfortable position, we felt like we were almost in the back of the car. At first, I couldn't tell the difference but I think the Sonata is the best car for my needs. Thanks for this video! The side by side helps me know that I wasn't crazy for feeling like giant in the Elantra.

Coming from a gear head point of view, I bought the elantra because it has mpi fuel injection system vs the sonatas gdi system.

One thing you forgot to mention is that both cars are android auto and apple car play compatible. Which makes the integrated GPS system it comes with obsolete. And the compatibility with AA is actually the reason I purchased my elantra over a altima the dealer was trying to sell me.

The sonatas big 2.4 four cylinder engine uses a chain driven balance shaft turning at 2x engine rpms to keep things smoothe. The elantras smaller 2.0 engine does not require a balance shaft.

TTM GAMEPLAY ...both are very good cars. Just a matter of your budget and the size car you prefer. I've owned both and liked both very much. I like sonata for comfort. Elantra is sportier being smaller and more nimble.
