Well now I am a little envious! 😆 Bromo is such an amazing place to shoot both day and night ... One of my all time favourite locations I have even been to. I was there for three days and hiked to the viewpoint every morning! You'll love it there!!! 😁👍

As always great video with different ways of looking at what might initially be thought of as a simple concept. Delivered at the right pace with great production values avoiding the annoying unsynchronised jump cuts that so many others fall foul of.

Thanks so much!! Jump cuts really do annoy me ... I've used them in the past but never liked them, so recently I designed them out in the planning phase. Thanks for watching 😁👍

Dude, the editing and story-telling in this video are fantastic. Brilliant video and great explanation of a subject I'm always interested in, and try to incorporate wherever I can. And if the woman at 4.40 is Mrs Smith then you are definitely punching mate!! 😉😂

Another superb video, as mentioned in your previous video when I was taking photos of symmetry I was also shooting between the arches and out the windows, I always look at what's around me when we go away and try and visit them. Surprising because the wheel on the back of my camera broke and wouldn't iterate through the settings, it's in for repair, been nearly a week, I feel lost with out it, am trying to organise a trip to Norfolk for 2 days to shoot some of the remote churches there. I take notes of all these videos and put them to use. Many thanks for sharing the knowledge

It's always great to have that mindset of looking what is around you wondering if it will help or hinder your photograph. Ah... It always feels like it takes forever when your camera is in for repair...🤦🏻‍♂️ Once I have a few more up in this series, I'll put the playlist on my homepage so it is easy to find. Thanks for watching 😁👍

Classic content capably conveyed, Mike. (Avoid alliteration, always 😊). Blur and lighting not often mentioned elsewhere. Color change bit very effective. Thanks for not hyping the old saw “frame the fill and fill the frame”. When folks show me “fingers” it’s clear they are not talking “composition”😊. As I understand it, usually the finger bit has more to do with overall edges of an image, rather than elements to complement the subject. Would vignetting be a kind of frame? (Bonus “feature” for cheap lenses.) Table x 7. Still in sync w/H. Cheers!
@mikesphotography
@mikesphotography Жыл бұрын
Haha!! They are a different kind of finger!! 😆😆😆 Vignetting would definitely be a form of framing. 🤔 As always, thanks for watching 😁👍

Great video, Mike. This is one of those things that really makes a photo. I always gravitate to the photos that have a framing to them, either man made or natural. I don't always remember to keep that in mind, that is why my friends at Adobe created generative fill. They should have called that tool "For people like Steve who intend to get it right in camera, but routinely fall short". Elizabeth gave me a list of questions to ask you for our upcoming trip. I will email you soon. Take care, brother. I will look forward to the Color Theory video next week.

Thanks dude!! Haha!! I think that is going to be the new name for Generative Fill 😆 No worries, any questions at all, just ping over an email to the mike smith photography email. Cheers dude. 😁👍

@lindakantes873 haha! No worries ... Although you helped because if it isn't clear, I need to make sure people know it's a series ... I think KZbin took away the series builder option as well, so it'll just be in a playlist ... And once I've filmed and released all the videos, it'll live on my homepage so it is easy to find. 😁👍

Something similar to framing, which I really struggle with, is cropping an image. Its a whole minefield and makes my brain hurt.
